That bike was definitely underwater at some point. The seller just dried it out real good and sold it. What a jerk

The lack of integrity with these people you run into is really disheartening!
  • I believe this was an old ice racing bike. I bet someone fell through the ice and couldnt retreive the bike until the ice melted. It sat under water for maybe months. You can just tell. This was more than just being outside

I'm not singling any one individual out or anything by what I'm gonna say because I've seen it in the comments on videos going back to the beginning of Joe's channel but.... I see many times where Joe is being dogged for buying cheap, broken machines that "Well, there's no way I'd have bought that" he's picked up and got running, dolled up etc. to flip and make a little money on. He's never once said he doesn't do that and he's never proclaimed to be a master bike mechanic. His videos today, compared to years ago, show that the respectful critique and suggestions he's gotten, he takes to heart and tries to better his technique. If his content inspires some kid to get in Dad's toolbox and start wrenching on something & maybe getting their own "junk" and start flipping it for a few bucks.... that's inspiring! Which shows that Joe's more of an inspiration to these younger dudes who are watching & maybe even an old dude like myself! Thanks Joe for all you do to keep bringing us the quality content you are! God bless!~ Scott 💙🙏🏼👊🏼 Joe I'd really like to suggest that you check the gap on even new spark plugs as they're not always where they should be. They could have been hit on that end or dropped etc.
  • My man, I just want to say, I love watching all your videos. Let me explain, I love tinkering on things, and getting old things running, why I love your channel over all others, you don’t try and annoyingly entertain or be funny, have long intro video, etc. you just talk through your repairs and that is perfect. I can let your videos just play and never get tired of them. Keep it up man!
  • I’m gonna guess an ice racer that fell through the ice and then didn’t know what to do with it. Great to see you pointing out flaws to the owner and driving the price down 👍
  • The clay inside the master and inside the carb says it was definitely under water, not just stored outside
  • rattle can frame, over spray on brake lines, cheesey graphics on it and called it a day.... Joe is the MAN! He can handle it!

Some previous owner dropped it in a pond where it sat for awhile. He told local punk he could have it for $100 if he could retrieve it. So the punk was no mechanic but he and his friends painted it and tried to sell it as a 2002. Can't believe you got it running so good.

All the rust on the fasteners outside tells me he put the bike in water somehow and just cleaned it up and let it sit.

First time ive ever saw albino motor oil. 😂

Pretty sure that old Yamaha took a swim at some point! Fell through the ice or something hence the tire studs!
  • You should get yourself a set of reverse drill bits. A lot of times you will start drilling out a screw that is broken off & it'll catch & just unthread for you. If not, then you can use your easy out, just like you normally would.
  • @amd65ak47
Wow some people should never be able to owe dirt bikes
  • I think the theory of it being dropped into a lake or River, through ice is a good one. They possibly pulled it out, got it fired up and then drove it a bit, with water everywhere, then parked it out behind the shed after that. But, love how it’s coming along. I bought a behind the shed for 10 years, 1987 KLR250 for 100$ and now it’s my main bike. Turned out good after lining the tank, new brake hardware, carb clean and seat cover, etc. took it on a 250 mile ride in June and performed flawlessly.
  • @Six4691
LOL… “It’s all good, just needs a carb clean” seems like every seller says the same thing. It’s like buying a used car “it’s all good just needs a tuneup” just standard selling procedure!
  • @joegilly1523
Never seen front bearings toasted so much . I enjoy watching you take a beat to death unit and get it up and running again.
  • @jimowens381
Well the guy wasn't lying, it needed carb work..........along with 100 other things!
  • @xephael3485
This guy has lots of warning signs I was laughing when he said watch for the self-tappers in his truck..🤣
