I played with a guy who was 6ft tall in 7th grade, full grown man, dominated. That was his peak. He was used to dominating without working hard. Gradually, everyone caught up physically and then skills took over. By senior year, he was deep on the bench.

The thing that really shocks me is, nobody recognized the dude standing next to him was the same guy in the (i think vine) video back in the day crying while he was smoking cuz the gas was fire. And that's honestly a mood.
