I was sent to this place by co-workers when I was on a business trip traveling between Enid (Vance AFB) and Oklahoma City. I didn't know what to expect or what to order, but they just told me to get the chicken. As Guy discovered--there's only one way to get chicken: a whole fried chicken (Jake Blues would have loved this place). When I was unable to complete the entire chicken in one sitting, I asked about a box. The waitress pointed to the corner of the room and said, "There's your FOAL". "I'm sorry, what?", I said. "There's your FOAL!" I realized that she was pointing me to the large roll of aluminum FOIL that was the self-serve area for wrapping up leftovers (for wimpy people like me who couldn't finish). Quite the experience!

I like how they didn’t tweak the breading for the chicken to make it a little bit more modern. I think it’s great that they kept everything original not just because it makes the chicken taste good but because it’s out of pure respect for his brother.

I swear Guy has the best job a man could ask for.

People in Oklahoma seem friendly to this New Englander. Actually, everyone I've met who is a southerner has been friendly. I really wish people were like that everywhere.

This episode original aired on DD&D 15 years ago in 2009. The price is now $18 for a whole chicken and $19 if you pay with a credit card. Still relatively cheap.
  • 24,000 pieces of fried chicken a week! Amazing. That has got to be a world record.🏆

Went there in 2010 when a bunch of us from California where attending the Quarter Horse world championship s how in OKC. Drove over an hour and it was totally worth it. We had tons of chicken and fried okra. Super yummy. The bar is very old and beautiful. I think they told us it was the only thing left of the original place after a fire

  • This place is a testament to the fact that if you do the simple things right, they'll always be good. No fancy trends, just good food.

Guy is the best. Elevates small restaurants and gives them a voice

Eating food and watching this show at the same time is one of the most satisfying things in the world.
  • That’s brotherly love right there. Big bros been gone so long, but never forgotten. They still honor his memory and do things the way he did. Even though it’d be so easy to try and modernize the menu.

I like places that never change. Spot near me is like that. The waitresses still wear the same uniforms from the 1950’s. Nothing has changed in 75 yrs. It’s like going back in time. Best cheeseburgers and ice cream. Shady Glenn Manchester Connecticut
