Appreciate the easy approach to leveling. I’m gonna give it a shot with the broom and let the water to the rest. Thanks for sharing!

I have been doing this on a low area for a good while but needed this reminder to not worry about how it looks and just do it. Thanks so much for this.

    Spring 2024… We meet again.

Thx LCN. Did a drainage project awhile back and grew some grass on top; but seeing it settled. Sand to the rescue

I’m new to lawn care. This is gold. Fricking brilliant🤯

Just the information I needed! Thanks so much. (from Bribie Island, Australia, where the climate is similar to that of Florida).

Definitely look forward to a possible mole remedy video. One or several has/have destroyed my lawn.
  • this was extremely helpful, thank you! I have always bailed on leveling projects because I fear "smothering" the grass, and I never put down enough sand. Seeing you do this with confidence that the grass will grow through the sand is all I need to do it right this time. Thanks again!
  • @Ligerpride
That is a great explanation for why sand is useful here. Thank you.

I live in Oklahoma and have a brand new lawn that was installed in December then temps fell to -13 with sustained winds making it colder and my lawn looks like crap. There’s whole lines of rolled out sod that is dead. They didn’t put down any topsoil so it’s laid out right on red clay. I put down urea and then it rained really good the same day. I don’t have an auto sprinkler system … so with all that said.. watching your channel will give me a nice lawn in a few weeks. .. I hope. ☺️ ..and it’s Bermuda grass with a lot of weeds and I can’t use weed killer on it because that will kill it… thanks for all the information which I am putting into motion already.

NOT THE MOLE!!!!!! That was my battle the 1st season!!! Allyn I used (Victor 0631 Out O'Sight Reusable Humane Mole Eliminator Trap and Killer ) Got him the 1st try with this trap! (added a little grass and soil to the top of the trap so the mole thinks it's still underground hiding the light) Good luck brother I hope you get him! Also lawn looks epic can't believe its already been 3 weeks since you scalped! 😊🔥🙏🏾🤙🏾

Did a small leveling 2 seasons ago same exact way as this using my broom as well. I will add also if anyone wants to spice it up a bit and help your lawn at same time. Do a 70/30 or 80/20 mixture of Sand and whatever favorite soil with humic acid in it. I personally like Fox Farm Happy Frog soil but any should help as long as humic acid is present.

I have two acres and have been working to get rid of my low spots over the years. I take pictures after heavy rains of where the water collects. I've probably moved/added about 25 yards of dirt to get rid of most of the low spots. The minimum amount of dirt for delivery is 5 yards. For basic ruts and such I use some bagged top soil.

this was very helpful for a rookie--thanks! and your vids are stylish, too...fun to watch! Q: If I had to level my lawn and also aerate it, what's the ideal sequence for those two steps?
  • @krisellsworth
That was an amazing explanation of why you use sand to level lawn. I never thought about it that way. Thanks so very much!!
