  • Wonderful men and women doing such a good job rescuing humans and being so brave and intelligent...thank you so much for your service.
  • When I was stationed in Hawaii as a Marine MP we once chased a peeping Tom into the surf at night, Coast Guard came out and helped us look for him, but we never found him. He probably got out of the water somewhere down the beach before they got on scene. It was still really cool to have them come help.

God bless the US coast guard. We all hope we’ll never need to call, but we’re all glad when you answer.
  • @BoatingJourney

  • I am thankful for the men and women that are in every aspect of service be it a widget maker or a brain surgeon. Thank you all for your service and I mean everyone !
  • Thank you to all the police, coast guard and first responders for your hard work saving lives.

I live in this area and one of my best friends did a tour at USCG Station Astoria. We got a lot, A LOT, of respect for the Coasties out here. There are towns on Washington and Oregon coast where every single family has someone pulled out of drink by the CG.
  • @USAIRFORCE621
I cannot emphasize enough how critical the USCG is in the PNW, often times the winter storms will bring waves that can easily exceed 30 ft in height but that is where the 47 ft motor lifeboats are most in their element. In addition, as this episode proved and as I've seen in many cases in my nearly 17 years involved in SAR with today's technology wanted people shouldn't try to hide cause the forward looking infrared (FLIR) always wins and will catch em!!!

Maybe it's just me but if you've ever been saved within seconds of certain destruction, videos like this will always make you emotional and indebted to the ones that saved your hide.
  • How did I miss this one!!??!! This is OUR Coasties!! We absolutely love 💘 our Coasties here in the Warrenton/Astoria/Ilwaco/Long Beach area. We have both the station in Astoria and right across the bay, at Cape D (aka Disappointmentl) in Ilwaco, Washington. They (USCG) does so MUCH for the community that they live in. Our Coasties are always involved in making the community that they live in a better place by always participating in things such as food drives, educating the public, helping people within the community, etc... We also have Camp Rilea of the Army National Guard in this area, and our Coasties do more by far for the community than our National Guard. I cannot state enough, the gratitude that we have for these hard working men and women in our USCG stations. They serve a 4 year period, before the USCG moves them to another station for duty. As difficult as it is for these individuals and their families to move every 4 years, they graciously come into our community and make it their own while they are living here, and both they (USCG) and their families do what they can to serve the needs within our community. NO other military branch does more for the community that the USCG and their families! Thank you, to ALL of the men and women who graciously serve our community at USCG base Astoria and Cape D!! Each and every single one of you and loved ❤ and appreciated for ALL that you do to serve our community in the Warrenton, Astoria, Ilwaco, Long Beach ⛱ area.

  • @cwb0110
God bless the USCG and God bless America! We’re so fortunate to live in a country that offers these resources! And it’s THE PEOPLE’s talents and money that make it all happen!
