  • Those 215 bins and Phillishave tops are iconic, I’ve seen them at countless rave and free parties. Martin stuff is so legendary!
  • I stumbled over an auktion on a pair of Martin Audio VRS 1000 and dedicated mx4´s. I have them in my workshop and garage door facing my garden and yard. They sound amazing and are really loud at will still keeping the sound quality the same. I will never part with them.

Thanks for this. It filled in a lot of history for me that I didn't know about. I worked with Delicate on a tour in '87 and didn't fully know what we had been using!

WOW! I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this. I can't wait to watch it
  • Great story! I remember touring bars in Canada in the late 70s with 4 x115, 2x 212 mids , 2xJBL radials and 2x bullet packs all driven with 4 HH V800 amps. Safe to say we had some of the best sound you could hear in bars!

At the 29min mark, the F2's at the Torhout-Werchter festival were all the F2's of EML, Ampco and BSE (Belgian Stage Equipment) combined, if I remember well. I loved the F2's, owned many used stacks (FSX+F2B+F2C) myself, purchased from Capital. Nice to see my old cabinets back again!

Thanks for this historic tour through the amazing progress this company has made. I really am an avid fan of Martin Audio. Over the years, I have worked with around 6 different brands of PA, MA is far the best sound. It's so warm & transparent, I don't find it metallic or harsh in anyway & never have done. I'm glad the WT3 got a mention; I have 4x of these cabs and I will never let these go, awesome sound for dance music, appreciated these were not their intention when designed. I would like to say also, even though I own some CDD Live cabs & they are great, I think the balance between the amount of passive & active boxes you have is just right, I would not like to see a future where all cabinets are active, as amplifier choice is very important. Thanks again & keep up the good work.

Was at Shea, there were no Vox anything. But there were about thirty EV columns splayed around the infield with a tilt back leg attached.
  • The Martin w bin 15 created such a huge snare sound…..line arrays until just recently could not deliver that punch….you can hear the snare just no sound pressure

We used stacks of 215 with the shaver and top for techno parties in the start of '90 - they were really good at it
  • Remember a lot of Martin used in my local scene in the 80's in Wa. Local bands had the 2x15" cabs copied so every band had these.
  • That dire straits multi-output system is a very cool method. I use something similar as a system designer today.
  • Different frequencies have a different phase response at a given distance regardless of arrival time - time alignment doesn't mean phase alignment.
  • Hello! What is the Damping Factor of the amplifiers Martín Audio MA 4.2 and Martín Audio MA 2.8s?
