Welcome to my Tiny A Frame Cabin near the Twin Cities of Minnesota! I built this little cabin and campsite within days of moving back to my home state with my wife from Los Angeles, California. It was created to be a getaway into nature while transitioning to our new life in the Midwest. The cabin is a variation of Derek Diedricksen's Transforming A-Frame Cabin, with the transforming wall being left out, and a solid wall with a wood stove being substituted in. This was my first build ever and a great confidence boost that's led to additional builds like the Travel Cabin. The structure and exterior of the cabin took only 7 days to build! I hope you enjoy the tour of our little slice of paradise.

  • You two are such a cute couple, and your A-frame is cute too. A perfect little place to get away to when the world starts crowding in. Nature is such a perfect medicine.
  • Awww. This is totally like an adult fort in the woods! We used to do this when we were kids. Our parents even let us stay the night in it. We cooked hotdogs and everything. Happy memories! Back in those days wood was not so expensive.

Ever since I was a little kid,I have loved getting into tiny spaces.I would sit in moving boxes for hours, with only the thickness of the cardboard separating me from the wind and rain, and be all cozy inside. They didnt last long obviously, but it was great.Later on me and my dad built a 4x8 ft wood clubhouse.Great memories, and your channel helps to bring them back.

When you're not experienced at building you get a much more pleasing effect and charm. Great job!
  • I too am a petite senior, 65 and adore your tiny spaces. Kudos to you both for your willingness to live this way. God Bless
  • Your cabin build is charming! Everything looks great, cozy and inviting.
  • That is awesome! Girl in the Woods built the same cabin with the side wall that lets you and it is cool too! I sure wish I could do this but I’m a 63 year old widow and I don’t think this is in my scope of abilities. But you did an awesome job!

I love that you took to your dreams and got it done. So many quip about what they dream of doing, but never actually do anything. Paralyzed by fear, they don't try. There's a saying among quilters: "Finished is better than perfect!" Of course, with any build, safety and planning is paramount to a successful project. But after the safety & planning concerns are addressed, what matters most is that you make the build yours. It shouldn't matter so much about being perfect. What truly matters is that you try. One learns so much simply from trying. The reward is yours for having done so. Kudos to you both for building your gorgeous cabin life!

This is the second video of yours I have watched. The first one was of your super tiny cabin that you tow behind your vehicle. You are amazingly innovative and clever, but I just have to ask, is there a reason you make things so ultra tiny? I'm a small senior female, and I would definitely want to shower inside. I'm very much afraid I would need a refrigerator-freezer. Perhaps you could make a very small cabin that could incorporate those two things? I really like the A-frame. It keeps you from having to get leaves off of the roof.
  • Female viewer here. Your wife is beautiful! Enjoy your time together building your lives! 🤗🤗
  • What a lovely little cabin! ❤️ You're very lucky to have such a beautiful place to escape to. ❤️
  • If you pile rocks and Bricks all around at stove as the bricks heat up and the stove goes out. It will release the heat back into the room and make it more stable for you. Look up Russian fireplace. Also for better fire protection instead of your carbon felt place a piece of sheet metal leaving an air gap between the wood and the sheet metal. This is usually 1 in or more but extremely effective.
  • Build another 2 surrounding the fire pit, 1 as a washroom and the other as a bedroom, convert the existing one for a lounge space, It'll look like a tiny village. With board and batten the boards need to be vertical not horizontal so it's more weatherproof. I love it 🙂👍
  • You describe everything like its so luxurious 😂 yet its so basic & simple, cozy & functional. It works! I have ALWAYS loved the woods as a kid. We used to walk the neighborhood woods all the time. Such positive memories, simple days I miss. Oh yeah, a swing is everything!! Someone with a big piece of land should build a bunch of these, spaced out of course & rent them like cabin air bnb's minus the food. Lol!
  • A couple suggestions. Add (stack) some bricks to the top of your stove. They will collect and store heat, which means less getting up at night. The top of you a frame is ripe for a storage loft in case you would like more capacity.
  • What a cool A frame. I sure could use your talent around here. Love the swing.😊
  • @enoch327
I love the layout. It is almost like a gypsy wagon or a shepherd's wagon. Very efficient use of space.
  • I love this cabin! What a nice, simple place to just enjoy the woods.
  • A dream abode in dreamy nourishing nature. Beautiful and creatively done!!!
