Used Vipers now cost the same as new GT3s.

The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring ($228,000 as specced in Canada, ~$180,000 USD converted) and the Dodge Viper GTS ($132,890 when new in Canada, ~$102,570 USD converted) are two absurdly riotous sports cars. A gruesome 8.4L V10 powers the Viper, pushing out 640 pure American horsepower and 600 lb ft of raw torque. The 4.0 L flat-six in the Porsche GT3 Touring screams its way to 9000 rpm, making 502 hp and 347 lb ft of torque - all while singing its own version of the German national anthem. Each car brings something unique to the table; Thomas and James are eager to see what makes each of these cars special. We hope you enjoy the episode! Thanks for watching! SUBSCRIBE!

Special thank you to Jeff Kormos and the Viper Club Of Ontario for providing the Viper
Also to Naveen, for being the keymaster.

  • "With great power, comes great power." Dodge's new marketing slogan.
  • I watched the “Imagine if airplanes had wheels” part an unhealthy amount of times. Tom’s reaction was pure gold.

Don’t forget that viper came out in 2013, that’s almost a decade ago, it’s impressive that it can still keep up, not even mentioning in its ACR form

Between the "imagine if an airplane had wheels" bit and the outtakes, this is easily one of the funniest videos y'all have done. I don't literally laugh out loud when I'm by myself often, but this had me chuckling
  • These are the 2 best examples of NA engines. One uses extreme revs, the other extreme displacement. EPIC!

What surprises a lot of people about the Viper is, underneath all the rawness and power, they are actually very competent GTs. I am lucky enough to own an 06 Viper coupe, and I road trip it 1600 miles round trip every year to visit family. The seats are relatively comfy (very dependent on your build) and the gearing is so tall that it runs 90-100 mph at under 2k RPM, meaning I can average close to 26 MPG on the highway. Love mine and don't see myself ever getting rid of it. That said, I have a lot of respect for 911s, and would absolutely add one to the stable if finances allowed.

The Viper is and always will be my dream car. Once this wild aftermarket pricing comes back down, I seriously want to snag one. I don't care if I can only drive it 4 months of the year, living in Cleveland... I've wanted one since I was 5. I will own one before I die.
  • @RysterARCEE
$300K USD for the Porsche vs $135K USD for a low mileage 2014 Viper GTS ...I am buying the Viper every time.
  • @zatchsmp3262
“Imagine if airplanes had wheels” lol I was dying.
  • @Scoobystyle2
The Viper is my dream car, a fifth gen ACR specifically, but I love and have loved the Viper since I was 5 or 6 years old.
  • @Davis2920022001
Hard choice but I'm gonna always go with the Viper Baby.... All Motor 💪

And this is how I discovered one of the best car channels on YouTube! Playing catch up since watching new and old videos. Thanks for sharing!
  • @Reeator
Oh guys, you two are just the best Your reactions and opinions of your test cars are so entertaining You two truly reached top gear level
  • @zak__21
For most YouTube channels, we all skip intros to get to the main part. For throttle house ,it feels like a crime 😅. The intros are always lit. This might just be the best car review channel ever💯
  • @omgcool7206
The Viper seems like it would be the more fun and cooler weekend car. The Porsche seems like a better daily driver, though still compromised. I'd pick the Viper and buy a better daily driver on the side. New for new, the price difference would afford a very nice second car.
  • @EdwardViaTomato
That Viper has incredible curb appeal... but the GT3 Touring is effectively a perfect car.
  • @sakinapdf
Thomas & James, I DEMAND an intro compilation. Thank you so much for all the incredible content you've been pumping out! wish I could've been a part of the throttle house car meet at Oakville, well there's always a next time <3
  • My head says Porsche but my heart wants Dodge. My walllet makes me take the subway
  • @boombro4705
Man the Viper is so ageless 🤩 I’d take the ACR Viper over almost any other
  • Thank you so much for those bloopers at the end, that was gold. Oh and uh... great video too! Loved it.
