I like to think it’s a personal and private side of them, like it’s to do with the fact that mobians are linked to animals and therefore have animalistic features, some have uses that are no longer fit for their society they’ve built. Like some will have claws, so they all wear gloves. I mean, ‘why show you claws if you weren’t planning on threatening or hurting someone with them’ kinda thing. It’s a sign of peace and conformity in a way. An acceptance and a mutual trust. And they’d only not wear them around people they trust not to fear them or trust not to be wearing them either.

Aww man, the Shadow at the end is 001 so that means robotnick already made 002 and that mark on his hand will always remind him that he failed, I bet either 001 is hiding or he died from overflow of chaos energy
