Since they were going to be ripping out a section of the bridge and putting in a new temporary detour section, I thought I'd preserve my final trip over the existing section.

    That lighter-grey discolored portion of the roadway in front of you at the 1:29 minute mark is where a section broke free and fell on the lower deck in the '89 quake: https://www.baybridgeinfo.org/1989

    How did they build what appears to be a brand new highway in the city just beyond the end of the bridge?
