  • If it were more expensive, it would be considered a supercar by most. Some think that the price of something can put things in a different class. With that being said, yes, it's a supercar! Thing is badass!

Does it have the performance of a supercar? Yes. Can it outperform supercars? Yes. Does it look exotic enough to be a supercar? Yes. Does it cost as much as a supercar? No. It's a supercar.

The pause from the screaming Topher in the woods was comedy gold.

Ferrari sacrificed the 458 but I'm so happy Americans brought it back with a huge discount

“shooting Napalm out the back” is my new favourite description of burble tunes. I was stuck behind a GTI in the Sepulveda tunnel at LAX one day, and that’s exactly how it sounded. shart mixed with napalm.

That flateplane sound is something else. I enjoy a V8 rumble just as much as the next guy, but that flat plane whine is something else and really pushes its way into ferrari territory. Ferrari may no care, but they will notice this car. I am very happy GM did the C8; while it doesn't appeal to me, i respect that it is an engineering masterpiece and is an amazing machine for what it is, especially in the Z06 guise.

Great video! One correction: there is NO artificial engine noise electronically pumped into this car. They did add custom baffles on the rear exhaust trumpets which reflect the actual engine noise via exhaust back to the cockpit, but that’s it.
  • Sounds like a video game. All of your other Corvette drives have lead to this. Well played.

The C8 Corvette Z06 is definitively a supercar to me. There is absolutely no question about it. It has everything a supercar should have and is everything a supercar should be. Price tag doesn't matter. What differentiates a sports car from a supercar is its status, its performance, and the engine itself. With regards to status, need I say anything? It's a Corvette, the staple American performance car. Performance? No problem. It has already proven to be a beast on the track, and it accelerates like a stabbed rat. That engine? In a world where engines like that simply no longer exist, and in a world where (at least over here in Britain) ICE's are about to die altogether, the LT6 is an absolute godsend. The Corvette is not a "fake wannabe supercar" anymore. It has become a proper supercar, a pretty amazing one at that. *if you couldn't already tell, I really like this car

Many of us lucky ones got our z06's at MSRP because we were smart enough to give that small deposit to one of the big well known corvette dealers back in 2019-2020. Those who waited for the debut in late 2021 and decided they wanted one can't get one at MSRP becuase it was too late to get on the wait list. Or if they did, won't see their car until 2025 or later. I got mine 2 months ago at around 120k. So yes it's a stripper model but i won't be tracking the car. It's literally my weekend toy. The car is an absolute animal and all these videos, showing the in car acceleration doesn't do it justice. The car is MUCH MUCH louder in person. Sometimes when i'm hanging onto the revs at 5500-6500 it's so loud i almost feel like i have to shift because i'm at the end of the rev range but i glance at the tach and i still have 2000rpm's to go. It's insane this car. Bravo to GM for creating a supercar.
  • I got one recently. I love it. Definitely feels like a supercar to me.
  • @PatM3
Kinda sounds like a 458 with that DCT.
  • @acalthu
Bro in the blue truck saw jack-o-lantern pulling up and yielded immediately.
  • @kuruptzZz
man's doing highway speeds on a bendy road like it's nothing. What a car
  • @alolanstarboy
A funny difference ive noticed between the car and bike world is with cars we go crazy over flat plane cranks and a lot of people tend to associate it with Ferrari supercars cos theyre most commonly found in their engines. Then meanwhile you have bikes where everyone loses it for Yamaha and their Crossplane crank engines that sound like mini American V8s
  • @machone1672
As a corvette guy, I've loved them all my life. I got a C7 Z06 and was considering adding a C8 to my collection, but I couldn't get past the looks. Bought a 911 Turbo instead.
  • @tsomaa3126
Those initial cinematic introduction clips with your voiceover and no POV was an awesome way to introduce the car, keep it up :)
  • @chasemiles2166
I prefer the sound of the 6.2, but the Z06 is on a whole new level overall. My boss drives one, all black. It’s badass!
