Tring is not a "complete waste." Yes, it's a subtle sound that doesn't carry as much as monsters like Shellbeat or Quarrister, but that doesn't mean it's a bad/wasted monster. The whole point of Tring is that isn't meant to act as an accent that helps strengthen other monsters rather than being a lot by itself. This is shown very well on Haven imo, where it adds a lot to the song by simply adding on to Repatillo's best as an accent note. You also have to keep in mind that the island where it was originally introduced had 15 quads, so making every single one of them super powerful and impactful would be a good idea, hence why we have quads like Tring, Incisaur, and Edamimi that, while they don't carry the song, help support the other monsters and make whatever song they're a part of better overall.
