This demonstrates the real reason why we have a lack of diversity in certain fields. Different cultures raise their children differently. Let’s compare this to what the kids on the other end of the bay or doing with their time.
  • Thanks. Need more stories like this than just those punks doing sideshows and stealing stuff.

This is a brilliant series. Thank you for this tiny window into what local creative young people are doing. They are the brightest spot, and they are making things better. Consider a new series dedicated to young Bay Area entrepreneurs.

Wow, simply wow. These kids are brilliant and I being a father of a teen going into college find it hard to motivate him to think differently. I wish these kids all the best in their creations...we need more for the future.

Kids are the future of the nation !
  • A lot of comments are focusing on the kids’ ethnicity. But we have to realize that this sort of brilliance does not occur anywhere else in the world. This story is about American ingenuity, hard work, etc. Unless you are crediting the British or German people for all American inventions (because they all immigrated to the US from other countries in the past), let’s not continue the foolish talk about immigrants doing things, and instead celebrate the American kids doing brilliant things. #MakeAmericaProud

This is what focused South Asian parenting can do to this country..
  • @83dsvhtubb
This is why we need more smart immigrates. They help our country to become better.

A strong family is generally a prerequisite for early success and south Asians generally have that. However as Jobs, Ellison and others have shown long term success needs toughness that these coddled children (also generally true) are unlikely to exhibit.

Most of the members are having an Indian upbringing or are children of non resident indians. Way to go community.
