Spent 140$ on a set, came with 26 missing pieces. They told me to buy them on brick link myself lol.
  • Calling the real price a ā€discountā€ and slapping on a random ā€original valueā€ price is pretty much a scam. Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s illegal here in Finland, and thatā€™s good, because I think itā€™s incredibly scummy to do.

Falsifying sale prices (ie, listing something as 'on sale' even though it was never sold for the original price shown) is fraud and something that K-B Toys got in trouble for back in 2003. A class action lawsuit resulted in a $3 million settlement.

Best thing to do when buying mystery boxes is to see the lowest priced item you could get, see if its worth the price (Lets say, a mystery box cost 10 bucks, but the cheapest set you could get is 14). And if you're still interested and think you will get your moneys worth, then buy it.
  • Hot take: I think all Lego mystery boxes are a scam. If you like to gamble with your money and have a higher chance of getting a good steal or deal, then buy opened used sets. For those that don't know, a seller can list a set that was partially built but never completed it, and the rest of the bags are ideally left in the box. Oftentimes, sellers might not be sure if an opened used set is complete, so at best, you could potentially get a good set at a lower price. Worst case scenario, the seller could also scam you by taking out bags that contain high value pieces. Another thing to try is if the seller only has pics of a used set that's already been disassembled and put in bags. I had bought the 4851 Spiderman origins set for $13 a while back, and the set was only missing 3 pieces. All the minifigures and original box were there as well.
  • This is what he does: Pays youtubers to premote his products, then he ships missing pieces. And then when you buy it and tries to get the missing stuff he said to me: order something else and itā€™ll come with the missing pieces
  • When I bought from him (I don't anymore) "limited" mystery boxes were available past their limited date. I also a couple years ago bought 12 or so "random" Star Wars figures that he clearly forgot about for months. I messaged him multiple times before he just sent me 12 battle droids...

bought their five pack of "custom clones" and figured if i even get one good one with a cool helmet it would be worth it, instead i got five "clones" with shittily printed faces on minifigure heads and terrible mismatched body/leg colors that i cant even use for other clones

Last year I purchased 8 mystery sets and 7 of those were all green Naboo speeders, ordered 6 mystery fogs and 4 of them were Obi-wan as Rako Hardeen the other 2 never showed up
  • I made two purchases with them: First was a mistery LAAT box, which said that there were no mini scale ones, which I thought was awesome. It costed me $30 bucks, shipping and fees were another $30, besides it getting shipped one month after the pre order original date. Well, when I opened it, I found a Coruscant Gunship! Awesome, right? Well no, because the gunship is so small it wont even fit a SEATED CLONE inside, thats how small it is. If that is bigger than the mini LAAT, I imagine the mini is a micro-fighter or something. Build quality was also bad, so I would say I was scammed simply because there were none of those small gunships amoung the 30 on item picture I also decided to give them another chance because there were doing Clone Trooper mistery boxes for $3! Most of my clones are knockoffs so pretty much any clone would be an upgrade, right? Well, after 2.5 months they came in the mail and... they had helmets printed on heads! Yeah, their "helmets" were lego heads with a derpy visor printed on them. Also, the clones I got were like: A Scorch with a blue torso and green legs. Like What I am supposed to do with those? Out of 6 clones I bought, 5 had these useless body combinations, the only usable one was a Doom Trooper that had normal printing, just have to get a GCC Doom helmet, the others can't even be used to "upgrade" normal figs. That was 200% a scan, how do you sell clones WITH NO CLONE HELMETS? Those arent even on his website for obvious reasons. Guess I had "high expectations" for wanting a clone with all the same color among his body and a fucking helmet huh Lastly I want to say RB has been known for sending actual good stuff to youtubers and lego influencers, so if you didn't actively hid who you are, there is a big chance he sent you good clones so you would review it.

Yeah RB uses a very basic tactic of putting it on sale 24/7 because most people donā€™t know a very common tactic. I donā€™t buy any of his figures/sets because theyā€™re pretty poor for the most part. Mandr reviewed many sets.

In the middle of dealing with RB. He said the mystery boxes shipped out on May 11th, one was labeled as "same day shipping" and I purchased it on the 2nd. However, the tracker has had nothing happen other than the shipping label being printed. I called up USPS to see what was going on, they told me that the label printed was for not even 5 ounces. How is that possible for a UCS set? USPS literally told me to call my bank because they believe it to be a scam.
  • @dav46266
Petition to start working together to sue him
  • @reesehuntiii3070
Put me down as a non returning Republic Bricks customer. When deadlines are stated, they should be met and when they are unable to met the deadline, the customer should be notified. Also, It's easier for a company to meet a deadline when it has it's own working capital and invests in it's self and not have to depend on the customer and a preorder for capital. RB did not do well at all when it can to the PayPal dispute and my money was refunded. So not scammed here. Still he has very cool sets and I hope he's successful in his business venture.
  • @eightcoins4401
Idk the thing is the mystery boxes are incredibly shady. 8$ mystery boxes with multiple possibilities above 8$ value? Thats never gonna happen, itd be a massive financial loss
  • @Vry6xn
his sets are so expensive just for shitty old parts usually itā€™s not worth imo
  • @dduncan8802
I once had to wait 5 months for an RB set. I emailed them at 2 months and they told me it would arrive in a couple weeksšŸ˜
  • @mattd2026
Their customer service is definitely sub par at best. Shadow sets are ridiculously common
  • @That_OneBozo.
I once got a blind bag from republic bricks that was supposed to have any clone figure ever made but it was a figure from the 2023 501st battle pack and I got a free things and one of them said it could be worth more than 2000$ but all I got was a small droid build and a DARK TYPE POKƉMON ENERGY CARD
  • @OpticBlast-yk5hf
I bought a Republic Bricks mystery box a while ago, and it wasnā€™t bad. For $20 I got a cool Swamp Speeder and some really weird minifigure.
