You know the deal, starts with no moves, great Special Attack and Speed, bad at everything else, but once it gets a Special Attacking move it's over.... right?

Time to fall asleep to an hour long video of Abra beating crystal. Thanks Jrose.
  • @saltybot5449
Abra going on an absolute rampage in the mid game is great, seeing first form Pokémon dominating fully evolved Pokémon is really fun to watch.

In gen 2, badges have a different additional boost that they don't have in other generations: each badges boosts the power of the moves their type by 12.5% (there is one for each type except dark) However both the fire and electric type badges are in Kanto, so before Kanto only Ice punch gets this boost What this means is that NeverMeltIce Ice Punch would have been stronger than Charcoal Fire Punch on neutral targets, and especially against Bruno, it would have turned some ranges into guaranteed KOs sooner

Hearing “Do we lose? We do!” said with the same excitement as a normal victory makes this video even better
  • @IAmMissingnoMaster
The slow realization of what was about to happen when you started talking about physical moves only and I realized how much of the video was left. You are an absolute madman for this and I respect you for it. Beautifully done.
  • @moblinmajorgeneral
That first Bugsy attempt at Level 28 just goes to show the importance of damage rounding.
  • @xj-may
When you got to Red and the vid wasn’t even halfway over I was thinking “damn was Red really that difficult” and then you beat him right after and I slowly realized what was gonna happen next. Mad respect this is one of your best videos to date
  • @nykita427
You know Red will be tough when there is still 40 minutes left. Okay never mind
  • @mskain4896
A note for future Crystal impossible challenges: a recent video by pimanrules about the Crystal gen revealed that due to a small coding error Red will only use his Full Restores on his highest level pokemon, ergo Pikachu, so you never have to worry about them coming out for his real dangerous pokemon like his Snorlax.

When red and blue came out my dad bought them and played them with my brother and I. He went through a majority of the game without evolving Abra because he assumed it would learn moves sooner. This was a long time ago but I think he leveled that thing to 50 something before he asked us why it hadn't learned any moves. Sad thing is, he also got the game guide and just.. never looked it up?
  • @Yuzrnaime
Oh, fun fact for if you ever have to use Struggle again in Gen 2. I don't remember the video that taught me this, but equipping Pink Bow will actaully boost the power of Struggle despite being a typeless move. If this does end up being true, I hope this helps in your future Gen 2 runs.
  • @BaileyFox1818
Janine is probably underlevelled for immersions sake. They didn't want her to be better than her papa in the Elite Four and I think it's kinda cool they take immersion into account and value it above balance sometimes

There are so many solo run content creators now but Jrose just hits different ❤
  • Man, the script this time was excellent. Like, two or three times as good as usual. You sound either happier or more complete. Also, the double run was awesome.
  • @d.a.d.-ohgosh
Abra being at 28 as opposed to 26 is pretty significant for facing Bugsy due to 28 being a damage rounding threshold level.
  • @almocorongo5459
I love the fact that Dynamic Punch was a relevant move in this run Even nowadays in competitive LC we can see Abra pulling some Fighting physical moves like Focus Punch, Submission (no cap) or even Counter to catch Pawniard
  • @NoMind93
Awwe yisss Jrose is back. I dont care if its 3am
  • @Kite403
I had heard about how monstrous Alakazam with ele-punches in Gen 2 is, but I was not expecting that lol. And then to go full physical moves after? JRose double feature!
  • @plebisMaximus
Just like in the Gen 1 run, it's actually a monster, just disgustingly slow at the first bit. It's such a strong first stage evolution. That twist halfway through got me good tho.
  • “Can you use Struggle with (Pokémon) until you get a TM?” series has returned. I always use these as BGM and they’re funny.
