I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

  • As a die hard river tube fisherman this video is basically spot on. I would add, even smaller lighter tubes if nothing is working. Also, larger tubes with light light heads to really let that bait coast around. Sometimes, bigger tubes with tiny weight allows you to literally let the tube basically drift, allowing the tube to work FOR you, naturally.
  • Matt, Thanks for another great video. Every time I learn different ways to fish tackle that I was not aware of. Keep the techniques coming.
  • @jimturner2403
Thanks for the on the water tips. I’m following many videos, but yours are the best. Very informative and not just trying to sell us stuff. Thank you.

great video Matt, informative and fun to see how you do it. Thanks.
  • Great video! I love the retrieve videos. I’ll be surprised if you don’t have 50K subscribers by the end of the year. This is easily one of the best fishing channels on YT.
  • OMG.... You talked tube jig fishing.... I'm gonna need a minute to compose myself.... ahhhhh. All good now. I started fishing a tube roughly 1990. Long list of caught species both freshwater and saltwater.... hands down my favorite bait to fish is a tube. From 30 fow to zipping it along the surface. 1/16 oz tube head in a 4 inch white or pearl tube. Retrieved quickly with rod tip high popping it so the tube breaches the waters surface simulating a fleeing baitfish. Killer on schooling fish both freshwater and saltwater. Lady fish and Jack Crevalle's love this retrieve. Thanks for the vid.... LOVE TUBES!!!! lol...
  • @Glock-1
I just got some stupid tube jig heads from Tackle Warehouse and can’t wait to use them, I seen the video you did on them and had to have some, it’s nice to know I can use them around heavy cover without getting it hung up!
  • @ricks5606

  • @normanham6142
I’m loving these on the water demos of specific techniques with specific lures. Always solid content Matt. I’m going to finally try a tube. I can fish it w/confidence now using those retrieves. Very similar to fishing a jig. Thanks 👊🏼🎣😎
  • Thanks for the good information, sometimes I fish a tube like a hair jig and reel it really fast on bottom and stop it let it set a few seconds and go again.
  • @kenestra123

Enjoying the how to tutorials! Can you include regular tips for those of us who fish lakes that have bluegill as the primary forage in addition to the shad fishery techniques and patterns especially with fall approaching?
  • @nigel7297
