Hell yea Mr White.

Of all the M16 variants, the A1 is my favorite. It has a very classic look that I just love so much.
-
RIP Jim!!! You are a legend!
-
Perfect timing for Independence Day 🇺🇸
-
Loved that rifle. Carried one a lot.
-
I had one for Basic Training at Ft. Benning GA. the Home of the Infantry back in the late Summer of 1986. Had it until when the Army started issuing the M16A2 to the Regular Army in 1988. They were also in combat as late as the Panama Invasion when the 5th ID used them. I saw M16A1s with National Guard units till the early 1990s till about 1993. I love them for their simplicity in zeroing with just battle sights.

When I was a kid I would always watch this man on American Shooter on Saturday mornings!!
-
Thank you for the video. That was the first weapon I learned how to fire in Basic Training at Fort Ord, CA. It was my primary weapon for my 20 years of active duty. It was easy to operate and clean.
-
Happy Independence Day!!! Thank you very much. Have a blessed week.

“And Korea, and now I got Vietnam” That one M14 on the shelf: :(

Happy 4th. of July !!! Greetings from Chile.
-
I miss this gentleman (Jim Scoutten) from his Car and Driver TV days back in the 90s.
-
The one issued to me in basic training in Oct of 1983 was marked XM16E1 and had a six digit serial number. And that puppy could still hunt, it shot a perfect 40 out of 40 on the qualification course for me. And every single M16 accepted and issued by the US Army all had the forward assist, even the earliest one's that didn't have chrome lined chambers and bores, the Army insisted on the forward assist before they'd adopt the rifle, it was the earliest Air Force accepted M16's that didn't have it, but with the exception of course of tool room and pre acceptance M16's that were given to early Army Special Force's in Vietnam all Army issued M16's had the forward assist, you will never see a picture of a US Army soldier in Vietnam without one.

RIP Jim

Was watching some old shooting clips and remembered Jim from his late 90s tv show. Sad news but I never forgot that voice.
