As much as I crap on the CW shows, this scene will always be my favorite. The acting is incredible and when her heartbeat flatlines, you can see the distress on the characters faces and it hurts. Such good acting and direction here, shame the CW shows haven’t been good in years.

This is kinda similiar to Laurel's death in Arrow. Both Caitlin and Laurel seemed to survive at first but then they both died with the exception of Killer Frost's powers taking over and healing Caitlin while the same couldnt happen with Laurel..

I have another harebrained theory about this scene. When Ronnie died at the beginning of Season 2, Professor Stein started suffering from health issues because he needed to bond with someone because of his connection to Firestorm. In Caitlin's case, the necklace kept her Killer Frost powers locked up; and unlike Professor Stein, she didn't have time to wait because of the severity of her injuries. She seized because of the necklace. Even if Julian had got to her in time, Killer Frost would've emerged anyway. This cardiac arrest/death scene would've happened eventually with the necklace on. Abra Cadabra's assault just sped up the process.
