NATO SUMMIT: "... then we will have served Putin a small gift" - Ischinger warns urgently

Russia wants to follow the NATO summit in Washington "with the utmost attention." Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists in Moscow on Tuesday. The focus will be primarily on "the rhetoric of the talks and the decisions that are made and put on paper."

NATO is "an alliance that sees Russia as an enemy, as an opponent," Peskov continued. The Western military alliance has "repeatedly openly stated that its goal is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield."

At the NATO summit beginning in Washington on Tuesday, continued support for Ukraine in the face of the Russian offensive will be a dominant topic. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is vehemently pushing for increased arms deliveries from the West, will also attend the meeting.
