Box it self is easy to come up from basic items in local store or even make one from cardbox+tape, but that diffusior material was what unknown for me. For cheap portable lighting, i just got one of those car work lights. Runs 12volts 650 Lumens and 5600 kelvins. Perfect find i think. You can run that with any around 12v power supply like RC lipo, car/motorsycle or battery drills battery (if 12v volts) If shooting where you get power, just find like wall blug to 12v regulator and you can run it with out battery. Also if LED its not going to heat up.

Great Idea! But I used an EEGEES container leftover after a work function. It worked great. Thanks for the inspiration!

You blew my mind, awesome idea. I would do one for myself. Probably I would stick some tin foil on the plate to reflect the light that was bouncing backwards.

Very Creative. I've seen those containers in the Discount stores ($1.00 Stores in the US).

I tried something similar with those aluminium foil tray things you get from take aways. Not only do you get an easy to assemble ghetto reflector dish, but you also get a tasty meal in it before hand! Oh... wash them first of course haha. I can only imagine the smell from heavy flash use with all the generated heat and whatever was left on the container.

OK...SO WHERE IS THE RING FLASH PART?

Looks cool. Too bad I can't find a local store that carries the styrofoam containers. Could order a case of 36, but then what to do with the other 35????

Trent , you need to patent this idea.  Genius! Do one for a ring flash , go on!
