🤯 it has been stated; “it’s not what u know it’s who u know”
  • @WMGEC
Absolutely true! I would add that the higher you go up the ladder ~$60K+, you'll find more extroverts & narcissists. So make sure to read up on Workplace Psychology: 1) how to become more extroverted if you're the quiet type, 2) how to deal with narcissistic bosses, peers, or manage them, and 3) Read Robert Greene's "48 Laws of Power" because those people do exist more commonly that you might believe.

I read a book called, “Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office” and she mentioned noticing that the men who went in to “shoot the breeze” with their boss got the promotions, not the men or women working their butts off.

This is why I need to be self employed. I don't particularly care for work fraternization.

This is so true, when your boss don’t like you no matter how you work hard you’re not going anywhere because that boss will always find someone that he/she likes and gets promoted even if that person is not as smart as you.

You see that all the time. Not to mention that the older ones never want any changes or willing to listen to new ideas.

Connections yes but I wouldn’t bet on being liked - that only last for some time. Keep making connections meaningful and bet on ur self. Don’t take anything personally and keep moving towards ur goals.

True THAT, my boss best pal gets to take long breaks, skive off work as well as give her work to others to do. Oh and was promoted.

Most people get jobs through connections and most jobs are never posted publicly. The best person rarely gets the job. I'm so sick of people who cry about DEI and affirmative action.

Your ability to connect with your company's management informal network is more important than your job performance or skills.

I usually keep to myself at work. I don’t socialize with anyone outside of work & rarely socialize with people at work. Somehow I’ve managed to get promotions without even applying for them.
  • đź’Ż %true …I know that people in my company with the right attitude are winning , learning and growing!🏆
  • @rumble1921
So true! I have seen it at every job I worked at.
  • This is so true. I was bringing in over $9 mil but was hated because I had a BA & MBA. I took the company out of the red but was still hated and disliked. Never again.

So true đź’€ I was the best therapist at my last spa but my manager didn't like me and fired me for literally no reason.
  • I'm waiting for this video to go viral. The accuracy... đź’Ż

Girl- I love you, I wish I had friends like you. U r so honest, smart, hold your own and still down to earth. You are correct, Sh-t really floats only bc the boss likes you, I see it- I work in healthcare.

Emotional Intelligence is Intelligence, and one that has excellent people skills is actually more intelligent than one with limited people skills

In Germany we have a saying, that someone “got promoted away“. It often means, that someone got promoted from their active post to a managerial/theoretical role. Often when someone is too incompetent for certain tasks, but too well liked/ doesn’t give enough reasons to fire them. And yes, since at-will or “hire and fire“ culture doesn’t exist in Germany, that happens fairly often.

So true. All my top management who make so much money are dumb and I always wonder how they reached the top.
