People may or may not like this one. ESPECIALLY because of some of what I argue about Henry Emily and Elizabeth Afton. But whether or not you believe this theory, I do sincerely think it has a lot of potential. FNAF timelines are always weird and funky, and this is no exception. But as far as Five Nights at Freddy's death placement goes, I think this might be the one

“Set to new purpose and used in ways I never thought imaginable” - murder dude. Murdering people. And children. He didn’t imagine his fun animatronics would be used to murder.
  • 12:43 I personally take this line was referring to the souls. The "New purpose" is that the animatronics are now vessels for the children to cling onto. And the "being used in ways i never thought imaginable" refers to how William used the animatronics to hide the bodies, or the Marionette, whatever. It's the same either way.

15:11 One problem I have with this is that Scott once said "What's seen in the shadows is easily misunderstood in the mind of a child". What kind of "misunderstanding" would it be for the Bite Victim if what he saw was his sister getting actually killed by Baby in front of him?
  • @ethbeatthem4836
“A wound first inflicted on me” could mean Charlie, but with context of William being a kidnapper in the Movies…. We see the Bunker with FNAF 4 room…. And the last of the Pizzaplex books….. It could mean something else. Also ending why, bunker, bunker was built before that Fredbear family dinner open, which mean the nightmare chambers were always there. Why does William have Nightmare Bunker before anything, we’ll simply as the movie show he never had a reason to do any of this and he was more monstrous then we like to think.
  • Wait, what is Elizabeth was taken in the divorce and baby was made to kidnap her? Like to take her back but killed her on accident? That could be a reason for making kidnap bot early in the time line
  • @DraconianBS
Here's my personal order, 1. Crying Child dies in unfortunate accident 1983 which gets the springlocks retired to storage and also kills Fredbears Family Diner. 2. Charlie is killed by Afton 1983-84 3. MCI occurs 1985 and Freddies restaruant barely stays open until 1986 when it is forced to close. At some point the animatronics start acting strange and Afton begins to figure out remnant. 4. Afton tries to start Circus Baby's Pizza World while Henry recovers from grief and starts work on more security measures for Freddie's beyond the Marionette. Elizabeth is scooped and Afton decides the animatronics can be rented out instead because he still needs remnant. 5. 1987 Henry is back with the new Toy animatronics and William begins experimenting with remnant by suggesting to use parts of the old animatronics to "repair" the Toys. They open the new Freddies location, but William can't control his murder tendancies and so kills more kids and the place is shut down. The Toys are decommissioned for Afton to steal the remnant parts from. 6. Henry or William then try one last time to open up a Freddies by fixing up the old animatronics but fail because nobody wants to go to the murder restaurant and that's how we get the location for FNAF or whatever year at this point. 7. William returns to this location to steal the remnant and disassemble them, and gets Springlocked. Henry comes looking for him and figures out that he was the cause of everything so seals the room off. 8. Michael, after growing up being tortured with nightmares by William, goes and does sister location stuff because dad is missing, figures out the truth, gets Ennard stuffed in him, and then goes to go find dad now on quest for vengeance. 9. Gets hired at FNAF 1 location as night guard, can't find dad, gets attacked, communes with spirits? (Logbook and It's Me from Golden Freddy) 10. 2023 Fazbear Frights opens, Michael becomes security guard and finds dad. Tries to burn him because he saw sister location schematics. They both escape/survive. 11. Henry comes back now that he heard they found and released Afton, devises FNAF 6 12. New FNAF stuff that I don't feel like detailing because this is already obscenely long lol I am open to any interpretation that logically makes since. Rye did a really good job backing up his claims, and I'd be fine if his was the canon timeline 😃
  • I cant believe Freddy Fazbear said "Its fazber'ing time" and fazbear'd all over the pizzaria
  • @barbadroid
Oooh, that's a really cool view, I like the theory. BUT, you keep saying that Circus Baby's Pizza world never opened, which isn't true, it did, but only for one day, we hear that from Baby's story. Also thank you for shoutout! It's a pleasure to create art for you!!
  • I think this works better if you move Charlotte to be first in the timeline, borrowing his motive from the novels ("wild jealousy" toward Henry and general sense of "bitter sadism" toward the world). This gives a reason for the Funtimes—he notices the Puppet's possession and wants to kidnap victims so he can experiment on them in a controlled environment. However, Baby not only picks his daughter but malfunctions and kills her (in Fourth Closet we see that every time beside the first Baby captures rather than kills, possibly suggesting Elizabeth's death was a bug), so he shuts that idea down. The prospect of immortality keeps nagging at him, though, so eventually he puts together a plan to do it himself rather than relying on automation, thus the MCI. Eventually Freddy's shuts down entirely and he manages to snag the endos, and through his experiments grants the Funtimes a semblance of life that allows him to give them more complex instructions, so he decides to put them back into service. He heads back to the restaurant one last time to grab the Spring Bonnie suit juuust in case the spirits get out of control, and the rest is history.

Here's a crackpot theory for thought, the last few games have been seeming to imply that the mystery person sending in the parts for Fazbear to use is sending things we see in the SL bunker. Hand unit in Help Wanted 1, the SCOOPER in ruin, and now the crazy amount of references to them in hw 2, and not to mention the empty suits from the bunker some how made it all the way to the sinkhole under the pizzaplex to become a part of the tangle?? We see a lot of old parts on display in rockstar row of SB and we know parts have been going missing and I think the same thing happened to them, the suits were probably on display in different pieces and slowly disappeared alongside other pieces. We have been wondering this entire time why the tangle is here and I think it might be a mix of agony left over from the aftermath of the fire, possibly, but also I think those suits it took were left with trace amounts of remnant on them. I mean, the SCOOPER was used 5 times in a row and it still had enough to effect Mike Afton to a crazy degree, and that might be why we see an ending where the tangle attacks springtrap, and why it runs from us in Ruin, it has pieces of the remnant and possibly enough inkling of memory to hate William Afton without remembering much else.

Couldn’t William be a serial killer from the beginning, we can’t be too sure as there’s no evidence I can think of anyway so it’s just speculation but something could of happened at fall fest where William kills some kids? Hopefully we get a game about fall fest as that could be massive for lore and timeline.
  • @tinaherr3856
10:49 a better interpretation is that the posessed animitronics walking around at ungodly hours, hunting security guards. Because the animitronics straight up try to kill regular people, based on numerous times in the games (both gameplay and Phone Guy messages). The spirits attacking people in a confused state, using his creations is definitely beyond Henry's imagination
  • @marionette8739
12:48 Well, since they were built to be Kidnapping Machines, and Dittophobia suggests that William was kidnapping kids to experiment on, they could've been made early on for that purpose, and Elizabeth died from either health complications or basically an industrial accident. Also, if he lost her in the divorce, that could've been his method of capturing her. Distract his wife with an argument over custody, and have the kidnapping robot take her while no one's looking. The robot you've been hyping your kid up to see, but making it taboo to see, so she goes there in secret... while her parents are distracted, perhaps? It just went wrong. Some mistake in the modifications. Not enough room in storage, perhaps, or the capture mechanism was too violent. He would know about these issues yet because this is the first time the system is being used. And that's why Charlie or the MCI happened: this was what motivated him to lash out at Henry. But hey, that's just a theory!

2:35 the poor kitty is forced to witness the demise of elizabeth afton
  • @Fliel0
What if the claw from Baby that we see in that one mini game wasn't meant for capturing kids (since there's no motive to make kid stealing stuff if it happened so early) but instead a mechanism made to give out ice cream, like we see in HW2. Maybe Henry made some of the Funtimes early on, and Afton later turned them into kidnapping robots. The death of elizabeth could have been from a glitch in Baby's system, and not an intended feature that shouldn't even exist so early. Later on, with the rentals, Afton then could add mechanisms inside the animatronics for capturing kids, since he should then have the motive. Also, it means that when baby in Help Wanted 2 gave you ice cream with her claw, it was a clue, which would be cool.
  • Well, I mean... We know for a fact that Crying Child happens in 1983. Not only is that the year shown on the TV, but Scott also came out and confirmed that date himself. I'd argue that's the MOST confirmed year we have for anything. Crying Child MUST happen in 1983. As for the Phone Guy's statements about Fredbear's in FNAF2... That actually seems to be one of the things that Scott retconned. Considering Crying Child dies at Fredbears (We know thanks to Springlock Suits and distinct lack of other animatronics) and there's plenty of Freddy Fazbear toys and such. Even if Fredbear's closed down and then Freddy Fazbear's popped up almost immediately, that still wouldn't really track with Phone Guy's comments in FNAF2. I mean, it's only four years. I suppose one could argue that "place closed down years ago" could track fine, but the implication of the line is that it's been way longer than that if people don't really remember it.
  • @Chron0sPersonal
"...stepped in as it was happening..." could mean that the death we see for Elizabeth could be an exaggeration of the Crying Childs mind? where her death was more of an actual malfunction of the ice cream arm, which might have given pepaw the idea for the scooper/children traps in the first place.

I don't know if anyone else has talked about this, but there was something that I thought about that could imply that Sister Location takes place early on in the timeline. Of course, we know it must take place after the closing of a Freddy's, so it has to be at least after the 1st Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location. But I also noticed how Hand Unit has a very distinct look for the screen. It's just a black screen with text in a single color. This is very similar to the monochrome monitors that were common in the early to mid 80s, so it's possible that Sister Location DOESN'T take place in the 90s onwards. I'm not saying that's proof of anything, but I thought it was something interesting to consider for the timeline. Personally, I've always thought that Sister Location takes place before FNAF 2. I think this partially due to the possible implication of Fritz already being a purple zombie with the story "Sea Bonnies" having that goldfish named Fritz that turned blue & had a bunch of creatures living inside of it (similar to Michael Afton's fate). But that's just my personal interpretation of that factor from that story.

“Set to new purpose and used in ways I never thought imaginable” - william literally broke these guys apart and put their remnant into the funtimes -> ennard -> molten freddy
