Thanks man! Great update! πŸ‘ Central VA (Charlottesville/Richmond) is always in that transition zone! It's either hot or cold! I love snow so bring it one last time this season please! I'd love another 3" to say g'bye to winter but we'll take what we get, there's little choice. πŸ˜‚ Also, predicting the weather is like predicting the weather! You're doing a great job IMHO and perhaps people are just having fun at your expense. Just smile and say: "I told you I'm bringing you the weather!".

Excellent weather report sir. Ely, MN in the Boundry Waters area. Started snowing up here in Nov 2023, roughly 2ft of snow this winter. No snow on the ground now.

Where I am (halfway b/n Detroit and Toronto), I know our snowfall totals are down (we didn't really get more than a dusting until after Christmas, when a neighbour actually cut his grass!), but we did have a few big rainstorms of 3/4"+. I think we're probably about average for overall precipitation, snow to liquid, but wondering if this is the case for other places seeing well below average snowfall.

  • With regards to Nino winters i. The I95 corridor, I think lots depends on base state and strength. I remember the combo of strong and east based for 1997-98 which was awful for the east coast. My understanding is weak to moderate basin wide is the best for the eastern seaboard megolopolis. Has there ever been a super Strong Nino that was west based? If so, what year(s). If not, what would the I95 corridor be likely to get in such a scenario?
  • Similar to what you said at 5:30, they are a number of times that a different part of these city has disproportionately higher/lower snow totals than the other. Denver is a prime example of this, locals in the area have emphasized that the airport location observations are not reflective of the actual weather conditions within the city limits. Now, of course the majority of cities use airports as the official weather station to aid in providing vital data which many are not aware about. Listening from Salt Lake City area.

There are people who live in Montana, it would be nice to get a mention as the storm you emphasize in Minnesota came through Montana first.
  • I’m from southern Saskatchewan Canada. Our weather forecasts are Al fake - totally unreliable. Watching this site to even get a glimpse of what we might get. πŸ₯Ί
