With the upcoming release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, it felt (yet again) worthwhile to look at one of the older TT Lego games, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, except (yet again) I'm looking at the somewhat stranger port for Nintendo DS by TT Fusion. Here, I break down the gameplay, the characters, the quirks, and the truly most BAFFLING exclusive addition I've ever seen.

Weird, nah this is my childhood lego game, this game kicked ass, it was a beautiful masterpiece, this is the definitive lego game to me.

Oh you think THIS is weird? Play the ds version of Lego Harry Potter
  • Oh man, I just remembered a glitch with the DS version. When you're in the college hubworld, select a character with a whip and use it to attack someone. You have to make sure you only use the whip to attack since if you use your fists, it doesn't work. After you eventually kill your target, immediately switch over to them. Your character will be able to move but they'll float around and go through objects. If you leave the room and out into the main hall, everything would turn brown, red or green. I remember doing that all the time as a kid just to see the results lol
  • The DS version of Lego Indiana Jones 2 is also Drastically Different than the main console versions, it’s still a fun port nonetheless

Playing this game in wireless multiplayer, with both players using goofy ahh custom characters and beating the crap out of each other is the definitive gaming experience.
  • Remember playing this and Transformers: Deceptions. LEGO Indy was so fun. Having to blow into the DS to inflate a in game object was definitely weird though. Especially if you were doing it around people.

Very underrated content creator. Lego Indiana Jones was always one of my favorite Lego themes. I was always one of those weird kids that preferred Lego Indiana Jones 2 over the Original Adventures, as I found the open areas to be more fun. I remember havint these on the DS, and I was always disappointed it wasn't exactly like its console counterparts. Back then though, I didnt realize a tiny little handheld couldnt be as powerful as a gigantic box lol

This DS game was my intro to Indiana Jones. To this day, I hear the music in the films and my brain goes, "that's from Lego Indiana Jones!" I have a save with 113 hours logged, surprisingly not 100 percented (97.7%) I remember being so mad when I unlocked the clown and he had a shovel (which was my least favorite weapon.) Good times...

I remember playing this game in a smokey pool room while my dad drank and gambled illegally in the backroom. Good times.

Hey man, you definitely need to keep making videos on the LEGO DS Games. I came for the Assassin’s Creed, stayed for the Arkham, and a third rotating series would be really great!

lol I remember when DS games would ask me to blow into the microphone I’d just move my finger over the mic slot for a second and it would trick the DS into thinking that I blew it. Definitely saved me some lung capacity as a child lmao
  • i had almost 100 hours in the ds port as a kid. it and the pirates of the caribbean ds games were my go-tos

This was the only version I ever played of lego indie and I loved it. But always found it odd that in the bottom screen tutorial text it would say to use my thumbs instead of a stylus to interact with the screen
  • I don't understand this game. I've been playing for maybe 20 minutes and I can't even figure out if I'm in a level or on some kind of hub world, and if I am, where the levels are. There's switches I don't know how to operate with no explanation, I don't know if they're for later or if I have to figure them out now, because there is no direction in this game. There's a shop and character creator and such, but if there's some kind of area like the theaters in Lego Star Wars that have numbers on them and lead to levels, they could have done a much better job of helping me find them. I'm giving up and I'll try the first one, I hope that's more conventionally laid out.
  • Whether or not the new movie ends up being any good, I hope we get a new Lego Indiana Jones from it.
  • This game was part of my early childhood, and it’s honestly nice to see someone talk about it
  • @PaulMDavidson
Owning every Lego title on the PlayStation Vita is amazing. Those cartridges need to be displayed on velvet in a glass cabinet or something.
  • @MsCerealCat
I found a nice little hidden gem. I think I'm gonna check out more of your stuff when I wake up in the morning.
  • This is the version I grew up with. I still want to try the main version
