X-Men: Evolution is an American animated television series about the Marvel Comics superhero team X-Men.[1] In this incarnation, many of the characters are teenagers rather than adults. The series ran for a total of four seasons (52 episodes) from November 4, 2000 until October 25, 2003 on Kids' WB, which has made it the third longest-running Marvel Comics animated series, behind only Fox Kids' X-Men and Spider-Man animated series. The series began running on Disney XD on June 15, 2009.

Produced in the United States, the voice recording was done in Canada and the show was animated in Japan and South Korea

  • I loved how they made Logan more of a father/mentor figure and got rid of the love triangle between him Jean and Scott

X-Men Evolution, in my opinion, has the best adaption of Apocalypse's storyline in any incarnation.
  • I have a huge soft spot for Evolution. Although it was a little silly for the Mutants to be attending high school instead of just attending the Xavier Institute it still worked. Especially when the lid was blown on the character's mutant identities. While it did many new things to cater to younger audiences it made sure to utilize older lore. Like Nightcrawler's image inducer. I don't think any prior X-Men shows did that. Also I marked out when they put Wolverine in his Ultimate costume. If I'm not mistaken it was like the first Marvel cartoon to start using elements from the 1610 comics along with Morrison's New X-Men lore. I can go on and on but I love this series. It doesn't get enough credit.

"Look he's wearing the outfit. He's on my side!" "T H I C C" this made my day oh my goodness
  • YES! finally someone who doesn't trash X-men evolution just because it de-aged alot of the x-men
  • @mj1mj3
This show was basically how I was introduced to the X-men
  • @mttylerdurden9
This show was also the introduction of Laura Kinney (x-23)

Evolution rogue or 90's rogue, who is bae? Me: yes
  • It was weird how they would fight and then go to school and have class together.

I’m happy I grew up with evolution and wolverine but still watched the OG animated series. I remember all 3 equally well.

Can we acknowledge Gambit accepting Rogue for who she is and her abilities.

After watching the all the X-Men cartoons and some of the comics, in my mind, Evolution Rogue was a teenage girl slowly getting used to her powers and accepting herself while the adult 90s Rogue was a woman who was more confident and embraced who she was. She evolved (no pun intended).

This cartoon was MY X-Men. I really hope the MCU takes inspiration from this cartoon. Especially concerning Rogue. This Rogue is just like Raven from Teen Titans, which of course makes me love her even more.

I liked rogue's incarnation in this series she actually learns to control her powers which i haven't seen her do just yet

For me, personally, I liked how they decided to make Jean and Scott teens while Wolverine an adult so they wouldn't use the contrived love triangle subplot. I understand that it's a staple in the series, but I appreciated the decision here so that they could make Scott more likable as a character. That and it would be totally gross having a grown man constantly hitting on a teenage girl.
  • @joshwoooooo
This is still the only show with a fully realized Jean Grey not dependent on Scott or caught in a love triangle but her own complete person
  • @ccrz77
This show is the first ever appearance of X-23, she was so popular on the show they introduced her in the comics

I'm a DC fangirl, who really likes animated series. I found the X-men: Evolution, and I fell in love with it in a minute. For me, this was different from the other superhero series. They fought less with evil, but I learned more about the characters. After, I watched the X-men TAS, and it was really good, but Evolution is still my favourite. This is the reason why I am a huge X-men fan now, too.
