I see why you titled this video a nightmare, but really, considering how many custom mods and how detailed the build is, I think that’s just how it’s goes sometimes, and the end result, wooooo buddy!! That thing sounds like a monster, idles like a high compression 500cc!! Another epic build Mike!! As I will say every single video you make, your attention to details, your ability to make things work and tenacity to finish projects is always amazing! I’ve been waiting to see how this build came out, and just as I expected, it’s a beast!! Awesome video as always man!!!

Every single racer who ever lived going back to the dawn of racing of any vehicle ever raced has patched up, modified, harbored, band-aided, fabbed, refabbed, refabbed again, and duct taped their machine in a pinch to get her across the finish line in any place, in any case. Loved watching you improvise, adapt and overcome. GREAT SHOW! Plenty of tme now to order a new piston, send out the head for re-lining and adjusting gear reatio and tune for a reliable, top of the line winner!

I'm 52 as well.Growing up I was rough on my toys so it was either fix em myself or do without.I didn't realize how much it would help me throughout life.

That engine sound is amazing, best 2-stroke engine I’ve even heard

My mom bought a 250r brand new in 1990. She got pregnant with me 4 months later and the machine went into my grandmother's shed under a cover. My mom completely forgot about it until Grammy passed away when i was 23. As im helping with the estate liquidation i uncovered the thing. Still had all the warning stickers on it. Still had those rubber clutch and front brake perch covers. Mom was like "oh yea!! Shit i bought that brand new i don't even think i ran a full tank of fuel through it." I looked at her, andif she wasn't my mom i definitely would have said "the FUCKS wrong with you woman!?" Anyway i took the thing home, cleaned it up, rebuilt the carb, new gas tank, petcock, lines, air filter, oil etc. It wasn't a yfz450 but i had a ton of fun on it. For about 12 hours and it seized up. I was running it 34:1 too!! So i rebuilt the engine with a 323 bug bore kit and sold the engine. I then used that money to buy a 2005 yz250 engine, put the same 325cc kit i have in my yz250 in, all the fixins, lektron, you know the deal. Dude its night and day. Night and day. That yz250 engine is so superior man. I run it on c16 and klotz supertech at 36:1. I carry the front wheels in 3rd gear all the way up sand mountain.

Years back we were all heading out to a big race around 2 hours away. My buddy still hadn't finished his bike so he decided to ride inside the enclosed trailer to finish working on his bike. We get to the race and open the door to see a very sweetie and motion-sick beast of a man but he got the bike done in time.
