SpaceX began developing its first spacesuit all the way back in 2015. It took Hollywood costume designer Jose Fernandez several months to design a suit that looked as sleek as possible,
and from there it was then up to the SpaceX engineers to make it functional. Has SpaceX mastered the Space Suit? In this video we’re going to learn how SpaceX mastered space suits, as
well as discover who won the giveaway from my video last month!

  • Gotta say im impressed by how far spaceX has come in such little time
  • @mattmatt516
I am excited and most looking forward to seeing Starship have reusable flights. The moment that SpaceX proves it can actually launch, land, and reuse both stages is probably going to be one of the biggest game changing moments in space history!

SpaceX has seriously stepped up their game when it comes to the space suits. The new one looks like a thing from the far future - its so cool! Thanks to all the engineers and scientists out there working for these.
  • Something that really needs to be stressed is the SpaceX suit is not an EVA suit and cannot be worn disconnected from the capsule. It is not space rated and is only for being worn inside the capsule as a secondary environment protection in the event the capsule loses pressure. The NASA suits are capable of independently supporting a life-support pack and have other additional layers for protection during EVA's.
  • I think the thing I’m most excited for is developing more ai-assisted designs and 3d printing like the Terran R, but there’s so many different ways to make spacecraft now that it’s hard to decide

One little problem here buddy. You're comparing a SpaceX suit which is designed and made for only traveling into space and back while inside the spacecraft for an emergency case,. They are not EVA suites designed for space EVAs or lunar walking of any sort. Also, NASA spacesuits are 50 years old, originally designed for Apollo and then new versions made for the space shuttle. You can't even compare the two.. Plus, right now NASA has two companies better building all new suits, one design specifically for the ISS and EVA space walks, and another company is designing and building one purely for lunar EVAs.. Neither of the new suits are designed by or manufactured by SpaceX, and both new suites will be in service completely replacing all the old NASA suits by 2025-26.
  • Pretty crazy design they've got! Interested to see how well it'll stand up to the older, bulkier suits in real life.
  • @ryanh541
I am most excited for the first starship catch test. This will be an amazing feat if they can pull it off and would be crazy cool to see live.
  • @Project-Air
Excellent job on the animations with this one, Ewan! Really lovely stuff!
  • You may want to add a disclaimer about the Established Titles advert. Its a novelty gift. You must not add it the title to any official documentation!
  • @Edward-un2ej
The drawback of this design is the clothes are unexchangeable when someone's broken.
  • Wow!! These collaborations between the entire space community are helping a lot. I hope that this keeps on going for long
  • @Lauti-cw2zs
Love how your channel is growing, you really deserve it Ewan! For me, clearly, besides Artemis program, it’s the Dragonfly mission. We’ll discover a lot from the coolest moon in the solar system
  • @Ennio444
Oh my god, Established Titles are still around? I thought they died out in the Great Established Titles Pileup of November 2022
  • @aaaaa5272
Sorry to say that the "Lord" title is scam. You are NOT allowed to use this title officially.
  • @Andstronaut
I can't wait for Artemis 3 and the Starship orbital test flight, the grandness of the missions and plans excites me so much! I only got into space 3 years ago, and I've come a long way
