Franco-American here French mother American father US army I live in France! This is one great video and few things I can add street-wise Americans are not the same as European street-wise it is a whole new game here, so if your from New York City don't assume your more street-wise than a kid in a small village! Never stop moving when someone ask you anything that is a never to do thing because scammer never work alone assume you have two or more people looking at you and everything you have on you and finding the one weak spot on you and well all have at less one I dress and look American however I speak great French I stand my ground no means just that NO, and I look at them with a nasty look as I keep on walking my job is to help no one I never shake the hand of anyone I don't already know why because the ring is already in his hand and he will plant it in your hand, and now your have a target on you, and his many friends are watching your every move! Never open your wallet on the street unless it is a uniform police officer asking you for your ID cops carry guns no gun his is not a cop keep on walking! Never let people on the street know you have money or a bank account you have nothing at all with you no poctket change nothing the smallest hangbag possible if possible both of you hands a free from anything no camera or camera bag! In a group of four or five people you watch each other no backpacks if you have a friend who knows Paris get them to help you if possible don't speak English if possible don't spaek French with an American accent this is more true when your on the streets! When Americans speak the French think your yelling at each and scammer can hear you from afar this help them find you as a mark or target something you don't want no whispering because this looks bad don't look or act like a tourist if at all possible don't look American unless you kno what your doing I have been here for over 20 years looking like a Yankee yet I am very French most scammers don't look at me twice and I see them going and their move on to better targets! I know the hustle and I can not care what one bit about their game, hustlers can identify other hustlers pretty quickly their see me about as quickly as I see them once your French street-wise your good to see Europe!
  • Thanks for another great and informative video. I learnt a lot of new things from this. Well done.

This just amazing.....you hv an eye for detail and that is incredible......it is like most of the countries where we hv inward tourism........but good to know about the surrounding.....thank you 😊

Thank you for another excellent video. We saw the cup scammers and the petition ladies around the Eiffel tower. When the petition ladies asked if I could speak English - I just shrugged and kept walking. The bracelet dudes were a bit trickier in Italy - reaching out to shake my hand or making a friendly comment to trick me into engaging. It is sad that these folks are causing people to be less friendly. I would add to your suggestions - minimize the valuables on your person. I carry a dummy wallet with 1 credit card, a photo copy of my driver's license and just enough case for the day. Passports, bank cards end extra cash stay hidden or locked up. This way, if I do get scammed - I still have back up ID and cards (and onl have to cancel one card).

Merci for your excellent videos. I find all of them informative and useful in planning our trip. One quick question -- where is the link for the third video in this series -- I think I have missed it somehow.

I was victim of fake ticket scam in London an old Man approche Me saying he wrongly purchase his ticket and don't have money to purchase another one . I was so sad of him that I purchased his ticket and realise it was a fake one when the gate refuge to open. It was too late the guy left

I had the chance to witness the police group working in the Parisian metro chasing pickpockets. That was impressive. The police found my telephone, but the thieves were released as this is considered petty crime. They never came to the court session for the hearing, surprisingly.

I just came back from visiting Paris for the first time no wonder there’s no picket pockets or crazy ppl. It looks like French police have been doing some clean ups lol. I was there once at gare du nord , that place did look kind of sketchy especially when I just got out of the station. And Parisians did speak some basic English which I appreciate. I enjoyed my 5 days there in Paris
