In 2004 Marvin Heemeyer destroyed half of his town with an armored Komatsu D355A bulldozer as revenge for what he believes was government overreach and unfair treatment from the town. Unfortunately there is very little unbiased media on the subject at a time when Marvin's actions now resonate with millions of Americans, and even less information from Marvin's side with the exception of some tape recordings. So I drove to the town where it all happened to talk to the locals and get a better idea of why Marvin did what he did. #killdozer #granby

Next video: I destroyed a town with a bulldozer then surprised the people with a new one
  • Hearing the cop saying: "He was a bad guy. But the older I get... I see it, from a Libertarian perspective." Absolutely sent me.
  • I am from Granby, CO and was just a few blocks away at daycare when this happened.I don't remember any of it because I was 2, but I spent the next 17 years living and going to school in this town, growing up in the aftermath that was the killdozer. One of my moms best friends dated Marv for years, and before he went on his rampage he paid for her to go back to her home country to see her family. Patrick Brower who wrote the book on the killdozer was the publisher at ski-hi news at the time and Marv specifically went after the newspapers building because of how everything leading up to the rampage was covered. I grew up with Browers son, his wife was one of my french teachers at one point, there were so many others I grew up with or knew who were involved. Everyone in the town has some sort of connection to this day. I don't condone the actions of Marv, but I also understand why he did what he did and know he was at his limit. The town really screwed him over time and time again, I am just glad there were no casualties apart from Marv. Its really interesting to see an outsiders perspective.

I have the .38 Special Marvin used to end his career. My Stepfather at the time was a state trooper in Greeley Colorado. He got a call and is seen in multiple photos at the basement, crawling all over the dozer. The handgun was put in a Greeley evidence room because the act was so terrible higher ups investigate. To make a long story short it expired in the evidence room and was claimed. It’s still in Colorado and has been restored. Except red blood cells have deteriorated the external metal of the handgun. It fires and operates fine but there is the engraving of the rust caused by the bodily fluids of Marvin that stain the handgun forever.

The fact that the town officials knew what buildings he would target, tells me that they knew exactly who did him wrong

Once I was young I was told it was some crazy guy that destroyed our town and now that I’m an adult I completely understand why he went on his rampage.

R.I.P. Marvin ,they call it killdozer yet it killed no one! This guy was wronged!
  • @JamesonCox.
Cody is they type of person to bring severe PTSD back to unsuspecting people. 😂

Marvin was a good guy. He is an example of an honest, hard-working American that got bullied by selfish people.
  • I am from Germany and the story of the Killdozer is one of my favourites and also pretty good known by the people here. I often wish, more people would TREAD on the opressors in the world, so Marvin was a man to look up to for me. Also this series of WD is really the first ones where i am a 100% behind. Love the provocation in this one and i am really curious too see what he does with the kommatsu. A "rebuild" of the armored one as a display and reminder, kind of a collectors edition thing, would be an awesome thing to have on his farm. But the thing i hope the most for, is that he for once doesnt just destroy it for fun. This "thing" is one of the reasons I most of the time dont really go along well with cody. But this is just my opinion, and everyone can do what he wants with their money... Just bugs me to see, how he sometimes crash brand new cars or other things, that normal working people like me can hardly afford. But thats another story. For now, its the story of the awesome KILLDOZER, so... TREAD ON THEM!

Dude I'm impressed. You were perfectly respectful and reasonable with this. You've created something wholesome and should be proud.
  • "He kinda did us a favor" this was a guy who's business and himself was bullied to the point to do what he done. I'm actually glad Cody is bringing this back up.
  • @cameron3991
We need more people like Marvin who just doesn't bow down to the government / local agencies. He worked his entire life for his business and it was taken away from him overnight
  • @RoadReviews
Just wanted to say thank you for doing this I've referenced his story so many times and people have no idea how badly he was treated let alone even heard of the story it's good to see 20 years later someone's bringing light to how these small town communities can be bullies of their own be curious to see what your next project will be

The cop is the realest one he’s like “as a kid he was a bad guy but when I got older I started to understand why”
  • @ClashForYou
“I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.” ― Marvin Heemeyer
  • This is absolutely one of the best things you've done. It was so interesting. You R the man!!! We even had to watch the killdeer videos....

👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽. This needed to be made and you’re a leader for making it happen, Cody.
