Cam has cracked Youtube honestly. The thumbnails are always incredible, I've never not clicked on a Blacktail video the second i see the thumbnail
  • @Lemmstar
You know what makes Cam’s videos so much better than other woodworking videos? It’s the constant yap. I don’t think I could survive without it.
  • @IamtheSifu
This would literally clash with everything I own and i’d still put it in my house. It’s that cool.
  • @JKISOK1
This is fabulous and anybody who’s lucky enough to have this in their house should enjoy every moment of having it .
  • @truenorth90
This has to be one of the most genuine woodworking channels. No clickbait thumbnails or titles, honest and funny commentary, and also great woodworking content.

Guitar builder here! When we're doing the multi coloring ("Bursts" as they're called) it's a lot easier to start with the darkest color. That way you can sand back the areas where lighter colors will go until you get the level of transparency you want. You can then put the next lightest color across the WHOLE piece, which will give you a much more consistent color gradient. This way, you don't really have to worry about blending the different layers as you had to here (the blending comes from the sanding step). Rinse and repeat for subsequent layers going from darkest to lightest.
  • As a guitar player, I appreciate the color, the shape, the finish... the belly cut is a very nice touch. This desk is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, and I would absolutely put it in my house!!
  • I’ve been watching you for a while. I can absolutely say that 99% of your pieces I would completely put in my home! Most are stunning! The fact that you are so incredibly meticulous with making them look flawless is awesome. I hope the new owner truly appreciates all your hard work.
  • @nicklarson8575
I know he's been here a long time, but Scott is easily the best addition to this channel. His insights make you a better creator and I love his commentary.
  • @HeeHeeMan11
“That is more yellow than I was expecting” Hilarious jump cut to the table! Great editing and even greaterer table!
  • I have enjoyed all your videos! Thank you. I’m not a woodworker, I’m a grandmother of 10 and all I can say is you do amazing work, very skilled, very clean, and just the right amount of OCD 😊. I will also say that your wife must be both proud of you and a total boss for supporting you in your passion. Bless you both.
  • Definitely i’d put this in my house, office. It’s a center piece. The curves and slants make this a real one of a kind. Thanks for constantly -providing great inspiring content.
  • @SIPATGaming
Your original denim desk 100% gave me that feeling of " wow! I've never seen anything like that and I want that in my house" that was definitely your Holy Grail item for me.
  • HAHAHA! The burn from the fill stick was hilarious. I love the interactions between Cam and Scott almost as much as the beautiful pieces that come out of Blacktail
  • @k.anderson1558
Love your channel and how genuine and vulnerable you are. Not afraid to tell us exactly your thought process is and what your limitations are and what you are doing to improve. As many other have stated, you don’t give yourself enough credit for your skills and talents. Your work is amazing and I absolutely would have and use a table like this in my home. 😊
  • @mikedeuce13
That’s amazing. My favorite project so far! Love the offset guitar nods ie; body contours and the sunburst stain. Reminds me of a Gibson Firebird or Fender Jazzmaster or Jaguar. I would love this in my house!
  • @OSimon86
For what it's worth - I think your voice overs are freaking awesome! They are the main reason I watch your videos start to finish without even skipping once. And......OMG - I haven't seen anything like that table and I really want it in my house!!!
  • @shootstuff_se
I clicked the wrong icon and ended up on this channel a few years ago, and I'm hooked. Not only do you build amazing stuff, but the entertainment, humor and irony is 100 of 100.

Those 'fish sticks' are a great tip! Thanks! ****Something I discovered a few years back works quite good. I get big sheets of thin box board(cereal box like and thickness) from pet stores, farm supply shops, Costco. They are used to separate layers of bagged goods when stacked on pallets. I lay them on the floor and tape a stick of chalk or charcoal pencil or Sharpie marker on the end of a 4-5' stick. Use this to do sweeping arcs for curves when you don't want/need perfect radii. You can keep your hand and arm tucked tight to your body to keep it steady and swivel at your knees and hips. Sweeping kinda fast actually gives better results. Do a bunch of arcs and use a different color to go over the arc you like best (tape the other color to the other end of the stick so you don't have to move and forget which arc you wanted ) Once done, the box board cuts easy with scissors for a template. Less wasteful than wood and it's free!!! Those colors are stunning! Thanks for the vid!
