I decided to leave this out of the video, but I'll say it here: *Don't worry about your gear!!* Until you're amongst the greatest players on the planet, your gear won't be the reason you're losing. Just use whatever you feel comfortable with while you improve! Only once you feel like you're at the top of your game should you consider it a hindrance. Thank you for watching!

I used to have a “blame everyone but myself” mindset in Splatoon 2, and I was always losing, raging, and simply not having fun. Eventually, I learned to focus more on my own individual performance, and not let myself get unnecessarily tilted at everything. When Splatoon 3 came out, I started winning more and genuinely having fun. Mindset is a huge part of improvement!!!

the E liter bit got me. perfect professional tact through the entire video then a punch out of nowhere. Perfect.
  • @timmyr7583
14:25 so true about E-liters. They are always the reason why you win or lose as they are either goated or garbage. No in-between.

Don't use your specials all at once! Stagger your specials to get full effectiveness out of each of them, and to displace enemies for longer. ie; using booyah bomb to stall and push back enemies, then use a crab tank further ahead to further push back and potentially kill opponents who are still caught off guard, all the while your team can move forwards, and put pressure onto enemies.

dude i've watched so many of these "how to improve" or "how to get better" videos for splatoon, but this is the best one by far. you''re very straight to the point. i literally felt my brain grow x2 LOL,, thanks man!

“Dying is the single worst thing you can do “ Me with an average death count of 15 in ranked games and also questioning how I’m S+0 lol 😅 But seriously dying is not good at all like said in the video you need pressure, only reason I have high deaths is because I’m aggressive and have lots of quick jump speed and respawn in my gear. I agree with most of the video , keep up the hard work !

A big tip Ive found to help me, that you bring up If a weapon or special seems to catch you out all the time Try using that weapon/special, and see how enemies deal with you
  • @Kioko_spl
Focus on Positioning! I totally agree. Like for charger I often hear "I need better aim" but good positioning alone can extreamly pressure the enemys.
  • @tiley4897
As a top 500 player, these are actually good tips! Good job!
  • @aauz
I just got into s+0, and unlocked x battles. played my placement matches and I think I won one. I got extremely tilted, worst I've felt about playing in a while. my teammate had a similar experience the day before, and I immediately felt better. just remember that you aren't alone, whether you're on a comp team or not. there will always be someone who is feeling the same way. shoutout to suletta (my teammate), you're real one 🤝 good luck everyone!
  • As an amateur, I made a video with tips for new players a few weeks back, and while I didn’t get as detailed, it’s really cool to see a pro say the same kinds of things. Makes me feel more assured that my tips are good
  • @weewoo3023
Bro my brain is too slow to did split second decisions
  • This helped me a lot it let me realize that I do tunnel vision and zone out a lot and that I need to focus on only a few weapons instead of the full scale
  • This video has no reason to be this well-edited and have a good and convincing voice over, yet it does. Thank you so much! This helps me going throigh my current Splatoon burnout
  • Phenomenal video, not just for Splatoon, but for improvement in general. I started improving a lot in Smash for instance when I realized the importance of exploiting your character’s strengths and your opponents weaknesses and not giving them what they want.
  • I am struggling getting into S+ for the first time ever, thanks to your video I learned so many things about the mindset and now I will just keep trying and never give up. Thanks again, the video was very helpful.
  • @oliz5063
Got burnt out on 3 really fast as well bc the games basically the same as 2. Taking a break really does help and i found myself playing better by not playing at all ironically
  • @torrent5018
Just played in my first tournament that ended with the opposing team defeating us on the last match all using Undercover Brellas & subsequently in-sync dabbing on us at the defeat screen 😭 The circumstances behind it were very last minute tho & my teammates varied pretty notably in experience + the stakes were low, so I’m not really upset - still, it showed I have a ways to go & I think your tips will be really helpful - gonna spend a lot more time analyzing past matches & letting others give feedback as well. Thanks so much!
  • "Never Give Up" is the advice i wanted to ear. I already knew the majors parts of your guide. Your video was very interesting and instructive to watch. Thank you and see ya in the ink. 😄
