The AKG D12 Vs. Beyerdynamic M88

Published 2023-10-13
In this week's video, we compare the AKG D12 (and an AKG D12E) with a Beyerdynamic M88. Both of these microphones are classics, known for their low end and proximity effect. After listening to this video, let me know which one you prefer on each source!

I really love the M88 and would love to try a D12. The D12 sounded sick on that bass cab.

I think if we combine both together and Bass amp or a Kick Drum, the sound will be insane. the M88 have more "mid" range than the D12 but the D12 have more deeper low end, so I think is the best combination.

Feels like the D12 is pre-Eq'd for kick drum nicely. Hard to tell, but does the M88 have a similar low-end, just also more detail in the highs?
