INTRO
As with its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a sprawling RPG experience, and after a good chunk of time with the game, I discovered more than a few things I wish I had known at the outset. And that’s what I’m going to share in this video. Whether you’re just digging in, or even if you’ve spent some hours with the game, I hope you’ll join me as I share fourteen essential tips to help you get the most out of this massive world. I want to thank Ubisoft for sending me a copy of the game, and with that out of the way, let’s get into it.

Don’t worry about returning to Norway
If you’re like me, you don’t want to leave a big area of a game if you don’t have the option to come back later, and that was my concern with Norway. But fear not. Once you arrive in England, the game lets you fast travel back to the frigid north at any time. Just select this option here in the world menu, and voila.

Don’t worry. You’ll get your assassin’s skills soon.
You’ll notice that during the early game, you won’t be able to assassinate people, nor will you be able to perform your leap of faith. Don’t panic. You’ll get your hidden blade as part of an early story mission, which will allow you to pull off assassinations. Second, you’ll unlock your leap of faith by building the Hidden One’s Bureau in your settlement.

Be smart about building your settlement
A huge new part of the gameplay loop in Valhalla is your settlement, but it can be hard to know exactly what buildings to spend your resources on because the game doesn’t really tell you what they do, at least not in full. In addition to the Blacksmith, both the Stable and the Hidden One’s Bureau are worth building right away. The stable lets you train your mount so it can swim, and you can upgrade it’s stamina and health. You can also get new mounts, like this giant wolf, and you can buy new skins for your raven. As for The Hidden One’s Bureau, this building unlocks your iconic leap of faith, and it opens up a quest where you can reveal the history of the assassins by tracking down codex pages. It’s also here where you’ll gain access to your hit list of members of the Order of the Ancients, which is similar to the hit list for the Cult of Kosmos in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Some other useful additions to the settlement are the hunter’ hut, where you can trade in animal parts for useful items, and who has a hit list of sorts for the game’s legendary animals. Then there’s the fishing hut, which is where you unlock the ability to fish. If cosmetics are your thing, the tattoo parlor lets you customize Eivors appearance, and the museum lets you add decorations to the settlement itself. Finally, one of the most useful additions, which becomes available a bit later is the cartographer, who can mark the location gear, resources, and new abilities on your map. One final note on building your settlement is that in your bedroom, you’ll find a podium, on which rests a list of the buildings the game recommends that you build at any given point, which is actually pretty handy.

  • You know a game's going to be long when you play for 6 hours and then the opening title pops up
  • @MegaCygnusX1
I love how the Bureau has the Assassin logo plastered all over it. The "Hidden Ones" are literally not hidden at all lol.
  • Anyone else love it in AC2 when you could pick up enemy weapons off the floor and keep for as long as you held it?
  • @bBeNzs13
Sorry, but one of the best abilities that I'm not sure how you didn't mention is having your raven pick up your slain enemies loot/arrows. You can take out a whole place without having to even face the enemies. Highly underrated.
  • @prevladati
Purchasing the Stable in your Settlement is definitely not a priority. Simply visit a town that has a stable and upgrade your horse from there.. Proceed to use your supplies elsewhere :)
  • @AAAAAAAAAAAA526
When you learn the leap of faith, hide in the Bush and pretend you're dead the assassin will start getting scared😂
  • @magus13131
Talking about weapons, I highly recommend unlocking the ability to dual wield 2-handed weapons (bear tree, left side, takes around 20~25ish pts to reach), then use a 2h Axe in your offhand (I like spear or 2h Sword in main hand), this lets you swirl both weapons around you, decimating shields (and enemies) in a 360 AoE with very nice range.
  • @RogueSapien
Raid from land can only be started in certain locations. "Blow Horn" icon will turn into "Start Raid" option if you are eligible to call your crew for raid.
  • @mafallo
Thanks for the info. But I wonder whose gonna yell at me when there are salvages around when sailing? Just realize i'm gonna miss Barnabas.
  • This is best one I've ever played. Who else got nostalgia and got pumped seeing Basim and his apprentice arrive?
  • Really enjoying this game. Didn’t think it would be as fun as it has been
  • @babayaga4320
My ''social stealth'' will likely consist of summoning a wolf to savagely attack guards. Mainly for entertainment value.
  • How to get Dive of the Valkyries : When you go to England you'll see the longhouse, and there'll be Randvi inside and you want to pledge to Grantebridgescire first because, the final quest (to assassinate Wigmund) you'll see a book of knowledge downstairs in one of the buildings there is a door that'll lead you downstairs and getting Dive of the Valkyries If the owner of the channel sees this pls pin it so everyone can see or pls like so everyone else can see
  • @jarodcoffin
I raided that high level monastery by accident too but managed to beat it with advanced assassination and combat with the rest of them. The level gating in this game is no where near as bad as in origins and odyssey.
  • @millyzett
The second tip is a bit shaky. While Hidden Ones Bureau is def a must and you'll need blacksmith of course, the horse shop can wait: you can train your horse/change skins at any horse shop in any other location too... Important buildings are especially those who give you armour and other boosts, like bakery and then all the other buildings that add up to the feast bonus.
  • @S1873
I’m 20 hours in, still only on chapter 3 I’ve just been exploring everything that is on offer. It’s a masterpiece, can’t wait to play it on PS5 next week 😎
  • 10:00 after the dialogue, I actually followed her and stole my silvers back. I then just walked around and loot whatever chest she had
  • This game is incredible. Ubisoft was just like, let’s mix together all of our games- one enemy did the triple stab move peacekeeper has from for honor. Telling the wolf to attack is from far cry. Lots of moves from for honor are implemented. The loss of stamina is also from for honor. Even though they didn’t make RDR2, they have the cinematic camera from it. Despite the small bugs (mine usually involve buggy conversations with NPSC’s), Ubisoft did a great job of combining many gameplay options that they know players love!
  • Blend in with a group of monks looking suspiciously not like a monk.
  • This video is a gold mine of information. Thank you, and I subscribe.
