If you grew up in the 80s you were spoiled with the best toys ever. I had more Joes and transformers than any other collection but I did love Starcom, Robotech and Voltron (the original lion set). Great video.

Those of us that lived this era are so lucky. There was no way of knowing what it was we were experiencing at the time but now its something that we will never forget. Great job on this Ken 🙌

In all honesty GI Joe is also the best cartoon from the 80s because I can still watch it

I loved a lot of toy lines back then, but my favorite of all time is and will always be He Man & The Masters of the Universe, then Gi. Joes! What a great time it was to be a kid. From the tv shows, music, clothes & toys, everything was great!

Good list, Ken. When I was young, I liked transformers but I ended my toy era with GI Joes, they were really more playable. imo. Cheers! đŸ»

GI Joe and MASK were my favorite toys. As a kid I was definitely driven by the cartoons as far as the toy lines I got into. The main reason I didn’t like the original Transformers toys is because most were too different from how they looked on the cartoon.

no silverhawks?! hoooowww daaaarreeee you sir..... lol while they are in my top 3 in know they are not in most peoples, either way love your count down
  • @godofzombi
For me I'm gonna replace Super heroes and the LJN Wrestlers with Visionairies and Bravestarr because I never saw those first two over heer in Belgium, back when I was kid.

Thanks for the great retrospective Ken. I definitely would of added Gobots and Voltron to the list somewhere around MASK, and the Robotech toys to the honorable mentions. I believe Star Wars was the most successful of all the toy lines, which got the 3 - 3/4 inch ball rolling, even though it was a 70's carryover. He-Man did very well for itself despite the odd form factor. Transformers would become more popular than G.I. Joe, and would have greater staying power, despite G.I. Joe having the more expansive lineup back in the day.
  • @MOTU_CTR
Although He-Man was my personal favorite, I do agree that the staying power of both G.I. Joe and Transformers makes them deserving of the top 2 spots. And long forgotten is a toyline I wished had done better back in the day because I thought it was pretty cool: The Power Lords. But they barely lasted 2 years, despite having some great figures and a fun playset.

A great 80s list but I'm sure there will be a lot of debate generated. Number 1 for me has to be ... GI Joe, I couldn't agree more. My number 2 would be Star Wars and I'm sure many fans would be clamouring for Star Wars to grab the top spot. MASK would be number 3. Loved the toys, loved the cartoon. Transformers were too expensive and so I devoured the cartoons and comics but the toys were unattainable. MOTU was a bust. The bulky, muscular bodies were too much of a radical change for this GI Joe/Star Wars fan to accept. Everything else came along when I was too old for toys so I have no love for the Turtles but I'm sure they'll be much higher on a lot of slightly younger fans lists. A few years will make a big difference to personal top tens, which is why it's a great topic for debate. Yo Joe!
  • @quickstrike2010
Pretty good list. Let’s be realistic, you really couldn’t go wrong with the top 3 regardless of order. I would’ve put Dinoriders as an honorable mention. My top 10 would’ve been a little different but not by much.
  • @shadowgb
I won't even collect gi Joe anymore just because there's so many figures and vehicles and playsets. It's insane.
  • Enjoyed but WWF hasbro should have been a honorable mention at least
