I miss when DedSec used to be serious

Dedsec Chicago was creepy and I paid less attention to them Dedsec San Fransisco was fun, creative and the true image of what Dedsec is. Dedsec London is just desperate times and often crying that They did not do the bombings

I mean dedsec might be different depending on country and state, but I miss the seriousness of the first game

deadSec in the first game used to be sketchy but in the second game they were a group that fought for a good reason but legion.. damn they Fall off

DedSec used to be criminals with a twisted view about themselves in the first game. DedSec was Blume with a different ideology as they were willing to cause collateral damage to establish justice (specifically the Shut Down mission).

This about sums up my experience going from the first game to wd2. I kept wondering why these guys were calling themselves dedsec, cause they were nothing alike, only to realize the sequel onwards, we seem to be in some wacky reverse world where dedsec is treated like some totally hip and radical freedom fighting group, instead of the schizophrenic urban terrorists they were in the first game.

orignal dedsec main vs another dedsec team, its like horatio said: the original dedsec on chicago* so that means they are another dedsed not the main, also at the end of WD2 they said many dedsecs have been discovered now

Chicago dedsec was a very non main character, unlike all other factions they did not have an actual effect on the story beside clara Watch dogs 2s dedsec was very different but in a good way, the game felt more upbeat since it took place in somewhere like san fransisco. Also dedsec had a lot more personality that 1 Legions dedsec… Did not do the bombings, I guess…

I think every cell of dedsec has a different way of approaching things but considering how the dedsec of Chicago were facing the CTOS and Blume there; Safe to say that they would be harsher and have a darker approach of doing things. I personally headcanon that the dedsec of Chicago are more violent and brutal with doing things compared to San Francisco's Crew and London's.

San Francisco's broadcasts were a lot similar to Chicago's just with a few memes in the corner

Because the Dedsec hackers were always in different cells with on paper the same goals, but in practice way different methods and different general beliefs on those goals. Chicagos Dedsec was at CTOS ground zero, and were on the frontlines of dealing with it, with some very dark implications. They were a different cell with a different approach with a different ideology, whereas on the west coast Dedsec hadnt been facing CTOS and when they did, they had years of dealing with it by then and had been ready to use it for good, and therefore the mood is WAY more upbeat, tech heaven and surrounded by corpos dirty secrets with CTOS makin it a breeze for you to put them in their place? Ofc theyd be a lot more light hearted.

I was so hyped for the Legion but yeah. Characters get boring way too quickly. Just worldbuilding doesnt do it for me. I somehow feels like a parody at times. WD2 is my favourite one but I treat WD and WD2 separately. Both are amazing for different things.

Each DedSec chapter is different

The main difference in terms of story is that DedSec Chicago was founded and led by the Council of Daves, until one of them betrayed everyone for personal gain. Tbone exposed him and helped the other Daves, but because of it they kinda went into hiding and told everyone in DedSec to look after themselves as they are on their own. DedSec San Francisco was led by Horatio and others based on the fact they were now on their own since the Council of Daves went down and remained in hiding due to Blume and everyone else that were against them having an better advantage. That's when Marcus helped Horatio and the others by joining DedSec to gain a massive following and expand world wide. DedSec London was crippled after having Sabine betraying the group as Zero Day because she wanted more power and control over the system, which ironically led her to rebuild DedSec and corner herself when everyone found out who she really was and they had to do unknowingly do her dirty work by getting rid of loose ends. And now it seems in the current manga about DedSec Tokyo, they are revising the group to continue their fight against Blume.
