  • Tom Glyn Carney once again proved that he's truly Magnanimous, his performance as Aegon is hands down one of my favorites this season! ❤
  • I never thought that HOTD will make Aegon II such a compelling character. This show is magnificent!

Give Tom Glynn-Carney an Emmy. He is the perfect Aegon.

Aegon sobbing and being abandoned by his mother made me understand why he is so fragile and unprepared. As I see it Viserys, Alicent and Otto never put any effort in for Aegon and now Alicent and Otto reap the consequences of putting someone they neglected on the throne and still they refuse to learn. We also see splinters between Team Black and Team Green. Going spoiler free, some hints that Daemon may rally supporters around the Riverlands and Otto using Daeron Targaryen as another of his puppets in the Reach could make things interesting as the conflict intensifies.
  • Incredible episode. Tom did a fantastic job as Aegon. You really feel his anger and sadness. Can’t wait to see what happens next this season!

What an absolute banger of a performance Just wow.
  • I'm so excited to see how Aegon's going to go through the loss of his heir... this may be the most critical point in all of the story
  • Someone had Rhys Ifans & Tom Glynn Carney an Emmy already! Outstanding performance from both actors in ep 2!

Tom was incredible today, he really made me feel Aegon's pain. I so wish his mother could have hugged him in that moment, it was so sad. Phia as well was terrific as Helena, she doesn't always say a lot but you see so much on her face. That moment when she and Ageon meet on the stairs was really moving. I loved the scene where Rhaenyra tells Daemon she can't trust him, at long last. Then the drama of the tragic brother's fight, brining a very emotional end to the episode.

0:22 that laugh was my favorite scene of an entire episode stacked with great acting.
  • The most hilarious part of the episode is Arryk arriving with the smallfolk at the shore of Dragonstone, he stuck out like a sore thumb. 😂

When Madam Sylvi says to Aemond who is showing remorse, but also feeling sorry for himself at the brothel: "when princes lose their temper it is often others who suffer. Small folk like me" A lot of emphasis on some of the small folk that the war will affect this season, Hugh the Hammer, the rat catchers, Alyn and Addam Hull, then the Arryk/ Erryk battle all because of the royals' drama

"My son is my legacy, my son is the heir to the iron throne" The way he say "is" not "was" in denial that his son is dead. Tom performance is emmy award worthy, I got chills.

I really enjoyed this podcast episode. Needham's take on Larys in particular made me appreciate the character more. I'm excited to see more of this season!
  • Only issue I have with your analysis on Daemon is that Rhaenyra knows that she need him to fight Aemon and Vhaeghar. Say what you will but if daemon is gone Aemon and Vhaeghar effective win the war without any fight. Military thinking is paramount.

These breakdowns and interviews are so insightful! Thank you!
