I’ve never seen anyone providing this much in depth analysis about the Beatles. You deserve a Ph.D in Beatleology.

The vocals on the bridge are some of the most outstanding vocals ever recorded. "If I were you, I'd realize that I", etc. Paul's high harmonies with John's vocal are just soooo great. Anyone disagree? I thought not.

One of the best songs by Lennon. His voice is incredible here.

I've always felt that the greatness of the Beatles wasn't their hits, it was their albums. Other bands would put out an album with one or two singles, and 8-9 tracks which were rubbish. The Fabs could put out an album with no singles on it, and have something ;like 4 to six or seven tracks which were as good as any single. No Reply is one of those tracks. I've LOVED it since the first time I heard it in 1965. Thank you for the lesson. I'm learning it tonight.

It's apparent that you put a lot of work into making this video. Your musical abilities are obviously quite impressive - but it's really just the folksy yet informative way you communicate that makes this lesson sink in for the viewer. Thank you.
  • Another Fine Job explaining how the Beatles played the early music!
  • For me, the Em upstroke has kept this song alive for 60 years

Hey Mike, not only are you a great teacher. I believe you are a great music historian for the Beatles. I don't know if you have ever had an opportunity to meet Paul or Ringo but I hope you do. Having someone as dedicated as you are to preserving their legacy....these guy in my opinion owe you debt of gratitude. If anyone reading this comment know Paul or Ringo....please reach out to them and let them know about Mike's work. You are the best Mike ! Thank You

It’s a remarkable song. John and Paul’s singing is so great and the finish is powerful.
  • Taught my daughter to play that recently. Now I'll have to go back and correct my mistakes. Brilliant as always!

John Lennon's nuts. That's a gorgeous song. That Am-Em just kills me every time.

"No Reply" and "I'll Be Back" are early Lennon cool.

"No Reply" is the first song on my first Beatles album owned, at eleven years old. It's a joy to get the mystery analyzed. That A major chord - the perfect sounding new major third, wow!

That crash out of place towards the end is precious and creates magical tension before the end.

Mike, I was 15 in 63, when The Beatles showed up in America, it was a Revelation for us, young kids, their fresh new Sound was something Huge, a complete Revolution, that was to change Music for ever, I was lucky to witness their complete Evolution through the years, and I,m still Amazed at their Talent, something we,ll never see again in a Lifetime. Thanks for keeping it alive for the younger Generation.
