There is 1 specific episode of icarly where a random fan yells “Hey take your shirt off” and Gibby says “haha… I don’t do that anymore” when I saw that episode, I knew there had to be some meaning behind it.

I had a couple friends that went to highschool with him. They said when he first started getting famous he was still just a guy. Didnt act like his character or thought that he was better then others in school. It was the students and people around him who saw him differently and started teasing him. Glad it didn't keep him down and found ways to embrace it instead.

ICarly has such creepy history of the actors involved being severely damaged children from trauma and exploitation. We all like to think times were better and more innocent when we were growing up. Truth is, we just were too young and not forced into an adult world to know things have always been devious. Our childhood nostalgia is their nightmare and that’s a sad thing to think about.

I really respect that he channeled his stress and frustration through dubstep, rapping, etc, instead of getting into drugs like SO many people.
  • I am so glad that he is doing good with his life, there are so many people that go on the wrong path after being a child actor on a major project. Noah Munck is a legend, simply because he is himself

Yeah its sad how actors keep getting their boundaries crossed and judged for their appearances. I real appreciate what Noah puts out now it's nice seeing the art , music, and storyline he makes. I'm looking forward to seeing what he creates! He has a smooth way with color and edits

Because of Gibby I gained the confidence of removing my tee shirt from my chubby body. He might not know it.....but having the courage of removing his shirt on camera, with million of viewers, gave me the confidence I never had. He unknowingly was a inspiration for all of us guys with a fluffier build, to find it ok to feel confident in our own skin, and for that I thank him!
  • He wasn’t even fat. His earlier physique sorta reminds me of my son. It crushes me to think he may have the same experience being mocked or judged…..

It seems like everyone on the set of icarly had their own unique trauma which affected them differently throughout the years. It’s great to hear that Jeanette, Noah and David have been able to re identify themselves and aren’t shackled by the past.

I actually saw Noah at Disneyland back in 2014 for my high school grad night. We were in California adventure and he was literally 5 steps ahead of my friends and I as we were walking to ride Tower of Terror. I didn’t realize it was him until these girls started screaming GIBBY! And then my friend pointed him out to me. As soon as he heard the girls he put his hoodie over his head then walked away then knelt down pretending to tie his shoe. He realized it was too late as more people started to call out to him so he decided to dip away through the crowds. Poor guy clearly just wanted to ride Tower of Terror and enjoy his time at the event with his friends. I could tell he didn’t want anyone to notice him. I probably would have been in line right behind him and rode with him had he not been heckled. Hearing his story I can totally reflect on this encounter and see how he hated being associated with Gibby publicly.

Honestly it’s sad to know that people were such asses to Noah. I loved his character in iCarly. He was funny, quirky, but also confident. As a big guy throughout my childhood and even now as well, seeing his performance really brought me out of my shell and helped me feel more confidence in my own body.

Gibby was always the most relatable carechter for me. Nothing really wrong with him, he was just kinda awkward and weird but instead of being ashamed of it he popped his shirt off and told everyone to love him. A true icon

I only recently started watching The Goldbergs, but when I saw him, I was like “That’s the guy who played Gibby!” It was nice to see him grow up and play a different character. I can understand why he felt that way. It’s hard for child actors to outgrow a casting when you’ve done it for a while, especially since he’s still so young. He’s matured and I’m glad he’s doing good

I actually met him and (who I assume was) his girlfriend in Palm Springs. I’m a big fan of sadworld so I just came up to him and said “hey man, just wanna say I love sadworld”. He said “thanks man, no one has ever said that to me before”. Shook his hand, that was about it. Nice guy.
  • I saw him once at a mall near me. My friends and I were walking around and suddenly there's this crowd. Apparently he was there for a signing or something. We stick around cause why not. The crowd started chanting "Gibby! Gibby!" and the announcer asked the crowd if they wanted to use Gibby or Noah and the crowd unanimously shouted Gibby. We left after that but my friend commented how sad it was that the people chose Gibby. He walked by me, with security between us, still the closest I've ever gotten to a famous person.

I wasn’t the only one who thought him doing that was kind of weird also disgusting how Dan of the producer made him.
  • @kalebnolan8343
I’ll say it, I ain’t afraid Gibby WAS Icarly. He wasn’t just comic relief, he was the comedy and he was the one I wanted to get a spin off show
  • @shukezi3619
i was a chubby kid too, so although gibby was the butt of the joke a lot of times, it was really nice to see him portrayed with such an energetic and charismatic personality. noah is a really talented guy that made me laugh and feel better as a kid, so it sucks to hear that he went through so much shit because of it. i'm glad though that he is able to make peace with gibby and do projects that we will have control over. if you somehow read this, you're a great dude noah munck.
  • @scott0451
That's pretty unfortunate. I've always liked his character, and if I saw him walking down the street, I'd probably say hi and give him props for all the crazy things he did in the show. Kinda sucks that he deals with that in a negative light and people treated him that way. Hope he's actually doing well.
