Can I beat Pokémon Sword with only Ghost Types using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules?

Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Ghost Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause); This includes Pokémon that evolve INTO Ghost types, but does NOT include non-Ghost Pokémon that evolved from Ghost types!
3. Nickname Pokémon

Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's ace (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

  • I see irony in the fact Whoppers missed so many focus blasts in a scraggy, when in the Gen 5 anime Ash's scraggy was literally infamous for knowing focus blast, but never being able to hit it at all
  • Simply releasing all your pokemon and recatching them in a nuzlocke before the first gym is something i fully support. Excellent way to avoid the tutorial assuming you cant use your starter

Chandelure has to be the best ghost type I've ever seen. The first time I've seen it in black&white I immediately fell in love
  • Love that you used Runerigus as the thumbnail pokemon, definitely my favorite pokemon that came from gen 8 because of their wandering spirit ability it really enables so many cool and unique strats no other pokemon does.
  • Forget wild area trees, the spookiest thing about this game is the fact that it turns three years old very soon

Phantump is my favorite. Their dex entry says that they’re children who get lost in the woods and become spirits, or something to that effect. I like the idea that by catching them, you’re adopting them. You can’t reunite them with their original family, but you can give them a new one. 😢

I love how FlygonHG always gives his respect to the Pokemon who fall in Nuzlockes. I know they're just pixels, but (speaking for myself at least) you really do bond with your team during playthroughs. It's nice to see fallen teammates being told to "rest well."
  • The moment I saw you encountered Stufful, I knew something was going to go horribly wrong. The Bewear line has a surprising amount of coverage!
  • 17:25 Highly recommend Blaze Black and Volt White from Drayano, the dude who created Renegade Platinum. -Some evolutions happen earlier(Like Litwick, Pawniard, Larvesta, Deino, Vullaby and Rufflet.) -Trade evolutions now happen by level or by simply giving an item to a pokémon. -Basically every pokémon from Gen 1 through 5 is avaiable and the enemies are much tougher.
  • "Although any pokemon can technically be a ghost if you hit it hard enough with your car..."🤣😆 Lines like this are why I keep watching. Keep up the great work Flygon.
  • “Any Pokémon can be a ghost if you hit it hard enough with your car” That line KILLED me lmfao

The fact that Flygon is so clearly trying to secretly tell us he’s a Swiftie is so funny to me. That I’m the problem it’s me came out of nowhere lol. My favorite type is ghost and my favorite ghost type is Chandelure for what I hope are obvious reasons. It’s a chandelier that came straight out of a scary movie. I love so many of them though and they’re all amazing. Froslass, Shedinja, and Golurk to name a few. Thank you for these yearly ghost type runs they’re so full of personality and holiday spirit and I love it!

You saw why Litwick line is my favorite ghost type. FEAR THE CANDLE!

As spooky season is almost over, I'd like to share a handful of my favourite ghost Pokemon. Dragapult. Something about the shape of his head, the fact that he's a caring single-father of two, and that he's the same type as my favourite legendary. Mimikyu. This thing is so pathetic and adorable, I have never met a single person who hates Mimikyu, though I am disappointed GameFreak nerfed its ability. Cofagrigus. I used one in a nuzlocke of Black, and it was one of my longest standing team members. He stalled out Ghetsis' team and won. I transferred him to my SwSh games, so he lives on.

I recently picked up my unfinished Shield playthrough and was surprised how much fun I had playing through the last two gyms and the endgame. They really make winning the championship feel good, and the music in these games is incredible. Such a wide variety of mons, too, despite dexit! I've come around on the games a bit. Great video, too - I love how you put these together!
  • @Flane4
As a new Bostonian, I appreciated the Tea Party reference quite a lot, lol. Watching this playthrough also made me realize how much I actually like ghost types now. Probably one of my favorite typings from a Pokemon selection.
  • @devonhilt9389
Ok the hidden ghost with grooky really scared me, good job.
  • Love the Taylor swift references and what a great nuzlocke to start my Saturday 💙💙💙
  • I just love how you make content for seasons and events. Such a talented content creator
  • @SamEvans118
Hisuian Zoroark is probably now my favorite ghost type, Ghost/Normal is just too cool. Though I really really like Dhelmise (triple STAB!) as well.
