I think the thing I love the most about these old restorations is that the machines were entirely designed to be able to be disassembled. We don't have that anymore.

Never been a restoration enthusiast but I must say the before and after of each part, and its entirety as well, is nothing but satisfying to watch. I couldn't stop watching, like a 4 yr old watching cartoons on a Sunday morning!!😂😂

This took me back to my childhood. I had a Wilesco Steam Engine almost identical to the one you restored. You did a wonderful restoration on this and saved a little bit of toy history too. Thank you for sharing this.

Over 50 years ago my mother bought me this steam engine and some toys to attach. My father screwed all to an wooden board. So much fun... until some sealing rings broke. :-/ Your restauration brought so many memorys back! <3

My dad was an actual steam boiler engineer for power plants and i remember giving him one of these on his birthday in the early 70s. Still makes me smile thinking of that. 😊
