I'm a digital nomad, I gave up a 70k job to do it and it was the best decision I've ever made!
-
My son has done this, every since he graduated from college. He did some jobs in Alaska, and the west coast. He saved up enough cash for his next adventure, he is moving to New Zealand to do a Masters degree, fully paid for from his savings. There is nothing wrong with these young people, who have a free work ethic adapted to the modern world we live in.

I’m just trying out the digital nomad lifestyle myself… my life is currently in a backpack and I’m currently in Spain. Probably won’t live like this long term but it’s been awesome so far!
-
I wouldn't ask for advice from people who aren't doing what you want advice for! That's just me!
-
Great call! I STRONGLY encourage him to get out there and try it. Drove from NY - CA and back this past spring in my Ford Maverick. Did a lot of truck camping, sleeping under the stars, and stayed with family and friends while working remote. Best decision 👍

One word: Ecuador. You can get a room there for 20 bucks a day. eastern time zone. Friendly people.
-
Living in a hotel room would be nothing like parking an RV, and enjoying the outdoors.
-
Digital nomad? I would suggest going to southeast Asia as a digital nomad. Getting paid a westerner salary where all the costs are just way cheaper than the states.
-
Smart negotiations... definitely taste the lifestyle first.... many of these van life people give it up quick
-
I've lived in a van on and off it's not that bad. Travelling is okay but it's get old and can be stressful.
-
You can also totally rent an rv!
-
My family live in a great rv we got off of marketplace for $10k. We fixed it up and it's beautiful!
-
Ken is clueless. Hotels 30 days a month and eating out every day is TONS more expensive than living in an RV. SMH
-
Converting a camper van is cheaper than an RV and easier to park because it fits into regular parking slots. See van life videos on YT for the pros and cons.
-
Depends on your lifestyle, this guy has a secure place to keep his stuff and if he enjoys hiking and traveling he might as well do it! Plus if he’s unmarried, no kids, obviously no mortgage, live your yolo life but do it debt free!
-
full time rv'ers are learning they need a full time land place to return to. camp grounds are booked and expensive. could just live in cheap motels with an efficient vehicle.
-
I think the RV option is good, but also you can try living in other countries that have cheaper cost of living like latin america or Europe

Just buy stocks every month instead of a house. Its going to appreciate at around the same rate, actually maybe even more than money you put into a mortgage. Just dont save the money in cash only. I made that mistake for years. Just if you dont buy a house thats ok as long as you take the extra money and buy stocks each month. And buy quality funds dont try to pick single stocks.

There are a bunch of digital nomad videos on YouTube. From what I've seen, they make it seem fun

This is right up my alley. I want the option to travel, if I choose to, whenever I want to.
