I once had a forward interior cabin woke up in pitch darkness to this loud noise that sounded like the ship hit something and was sinking. I jump out of bed run outside where I could see the ocean as quickly as possible only to find people calmly walking past on a bright sunny day. I ask another passenger if they heard that loud crashing noise. They started laughing and said it was the anchor being lowered 😅

As a stowaway , I basically take any empty unlocked cabin. No choice.

My favorite cabin would be as far away as possible from you talking to anyone. Mr Yelly
  • My "favorite" cabin is my apartment bedroom, watching videos of cabin selections! 🤗

My favorite cabin is the one on a mountain side, with a fireplace and solid rock under my feet😅

The worst cabin location on a cruise ship would be the bottom of the ocean.

The worst cabin is the one where you can hear this dude's voice…

My favourite cabin is at the front of the ship, just under the bridge wing! I was on a cruise in this wonderful cabin. I stood on the balcony (we were travelling trans Pacific) with no clothes on. After doing this a couple of times, my husband brought my attention to the camera on the bridge wing! I have always worn clothes since! 😂

Once on a cruise we were DIRECTLY under the room where they did midnight karaoke 😭😭

We (a stranger) were put in a tiny slim interior bunk bed cabin. Like a coffin with a tiny bathroom. It was the level that had the windows when you came out into the ship. That was a relief. Our cabin attendant was in every day. When we docked, he stole all my money and disappeared. It was my first cruise,...and my last.
  • You definitely don't want an inner cabin; make sure it's along the perimeter. A group of us went a couple years back. My girlfriend and I, our cabin was great; loved having my morning coffee on my own private deck, watching the ocean roll by. It was amazing. But one woman in our party, who joined us fairly last minute, it worked out that her room didn't even have a window. She didn't seem to mind, but it would've depressed the hell out of me. The little deck was one of the best parts. Stumbling back to your cabin at midnight, sitting out there, occassionally seeing another cruise ship in the distance. Then sitting out there again in the morning, having your coffee while your partner showers. It would've been an entirely different trip without that deck.

We went on our first cruise and did not get a cabin with a deck, but a few weeks prior to us leaving they sent an email asking if we would like to bid on an upgrade. We bid the minimum amount and got the upgrade for WAY cheaper than just buying the ticket, and now I don't know if I want to cruise without a deck
  • I'd be happy enough to just be able to go on a cruise! My car barely makes it down the street, so I'm not the uppity type who would be choosy about a room on a cruise that costs more than a good-running used car!!!!

Think you could shout a little bit more? They can just about hear you in New Zealand.

Balconies with views partially obstructed by lifeboats are the best. 1) slightly cheaper 2) if you fall off, it's a survivable 3-4 metres onto a lower deck (instead of the open ocean) 3) you get a nice sea breeze.

Worst cabin is next to the maids/stewards supply closet. We heard the door open and close at all hours. 😩
