Discord did the funny with their "Discord Loot Boxes are here" video because they managed to make a YouTube viewbot and the video gained over a billion views.

But, how did Discord break YouTube records? Was this part of their April Fools plan?

Wow they just reset the video's views just like that. YouTube giveth and YouTube taketh. Rip Discord being better than BTS. I guess I will accept my death via kpop stans with pride.

I’m only realizing now that I completely missed Discord’s april fools joke… I just thought they were really going down the gutter when I saw loot boxes.

The fact I only now realized this was Discord's April Fools joke says quite a lot about Discord's reputation
  • As annoying as Discord can be sometimes, it's honestly such a power move to beat BTS as an April Fool's joke.

I’m hoping you see this ntts but in a game called geometry dash, the vanity link for the developers server has been stolen and a ton of bot accounts have been commenting on community levels plastering their invite link and pretending to be e-girls or famous players coming back, their comments are always purposefully misspell the link for some reason, if you type the link correctly it takes you to some weird e-girl hangout scam server, if you’re interested, I want to see what they are doing in their sever but I’m to scared to join it, please take a look at what’s going on as it’s a big promblem in the games community. That message too way to long to type 💀

Bear in mind, the viewcount number is probably not even affected by people outside of the U.S., since Europeans, for example, at least the ones in my circle, did not get the Loot Box pop-up or associated setting for it. The viewcount is already insane, but it could have been even more so.

Honestly, the polls feature is a nice idea in concept. I frequent a number of servers for games or other media projects that are in active development, and they will often post announcements for new potential features and stuff. Having a poll would be way more streamlined compared to the usual method of using emoji reactions to gauge interest, since then you'll have more control and readability over the answers. I do agree that having it be accessible to everyone does make it potentially bothersome - a simple solution would be to allow server admins to toggle polls for members with specific roles, or limit them to specific server channels.

I am so sick of Discords popups outside of the patch notes that cover elements, that I reflexivly close out of them without even registering that it was there. for the two minutes of the video I was wondering what you were talking about. Then when you showed what the popup was with the "X Didn't ask" I realized, I remember that silly little didnt ask button, because I definantly didnt ask and didnt give a shit about whatever stupid thing they chose to block the chat area with
