I don't think a single army out there is embarrassing. The fact that someone decided to put their lives up to protect their nation on a daily basis says a lot and shouldn't be disrespected like this.
  • there is nothing embarrassing in defending ones country. no matter how small, ill-equipped the army is, the determination to defend a nation is more than honorable! respect to all armies in the world.

I find it really interesting that the Luxembourg Army made your list. I was in the 92nd and 529th MP Companies in the 80's. The 529th was in Grafenwöhr, which is really close to the Czech border. You actually show the cross pistols and 529th banner during the Luxemboug part. When at the 92nd in Baumholder we trained with the Gendarme and other Luxembourg soldiers. They were serious professionals and hardcore soldiers. I went to French Commando school and as a Private First Class I took 3rd place in my 4 week course. 2nd place was a female Gendarme from Luxembourg. First place was a 45 year old pilot from Switzerland. I am still not sure I would want to fight either one of them. He'd have to be in his 80's now. I'm not sure I could take him. As for her, I am sure she would still kick my butt.

If we're being honest here, no military is "embarrassing" to call a military embarrasing based off of what you see on the news or based off of the policies of the country or even based on how outdated their tech may seem is just plain "embarrassing." The only thing to be ashamed of here that I see is comparing the militaries of third-world countries to that of the nation with some of the best tech available, with amazing research teams that make new innovations in military tech at a decent speed.

You obviously didn't research the Swiss guard. The armour is ceremonial only, they are highly highly trained and are a serious force to reckon with
  • In the army, the word embarrassment doesn't even exist. They are just out there protecting their nation.

    1. The Swiss Guard's medieval uniforms are ceremonial only, they do have modern gear which is for actual combat and they are highly trained and highly skilled; 2. China. Why is China on the list? It's not the only country that has "soft and undisciplined" recruits, the USA and Russia have the exact same problem.
  • Respect to all armies and all men and women defending their country out there. There is no need to humiliate anyone.

Embarrassment? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time. Never underestimate your enemy. You’d be surprised

No army can ever be embarrassing they are the protectors who deserve all the love they can get

The Swiss Guards go through Basic Training with the Swiss Army. In addition to its Swords and Halberds (used primarily in ceremonies) SG’s are equipped with the SIG Sauer P220 pistol and the SIG SG 550 rifle.

The 2019 population of The Vatican was 825; the Swiss Guard is 135 strong which means the Pope has the world’s largest per capita army.

No army is embarrassing. The fact that someone is willing to take up arms and defend their land, people, and heritage with their life, is truly admirable.
  • The Vatican "army" is actually a highly trained and skilled force. And if yo check the basement at the end of the hall they have some really high tech kit.
  • @hm3drake35
The worst thing you can do in a fight is to underestimate your opponent and their ability to fight.
  • Imagine being an elite highly trained Swiss Guard belonging to a tradition that spans hundred of years and seeing this video.
