The official stance of CMeeCraft Gaming is that fake blocks from Super Mario 3D Land are mere objects unworthy of being counted as a character. However, IF you were to consider them as a character, they'd have 1 appearance giving them a tie for 28th most appearances. Their weighted score would be 0.95 placing them between Co-star Luma and Plessie.

Normal fish is now officially more important than Peach
  • @Baconator2558
Objection: Counting the swarm of fish as 46 appearances would be like counting both Mario and Luigi as the same character because they're both human. Instead, each of the ~46 fish should have counted as one appearance and had their own spot on the ranking.

Literally never even noticed the words on the sunshine box
  • @Gemarald
Guys let's give him a break!!! The fake brick block was just too difficult to find, it's its entire job after all.
  • @snailofkale
the text on the sunshine box art is both practically unreadable and genuinely incomprehensible
  • @GBud-mm6do
Real human arm got robbed of a spot on the list
  • @ModernAegis
The fact that Daisy appeared on a non-rerelease box art but Wario didn't.
  • What's funny is that there's a zoomed outversion of the 3d World artwork, and Bowser is JUST out of view from the box.
  • @Placeholder93
To be fair, normal fish saved marios life at least 20 times so the recognition is deserved
  • @moodle6500
5:52 I can't believe you would blatantly ignore the appearance of iconic mario enemy "fake block", clearly distinguishable by its open eyes
  • @Grudulepoilu
Luigi: Had to wait 30 years after his first game appearance to be on a box art. Yoshi: Be on the box art of his first game appearance. Nintendo clearly being Luigiphobic during many years.

can’t believe you didn’t count invisible bowser. he shows up 274 times, he’s just really hard to see
  • @kingbooyah7806
I am so surprised that Daisy and Peach have the same number of appearances.
  • @gferrol118
It's amazing how Bowser is literally only on the Mario Maker art
  • Everyone’s talking about him missing the fake block but no one’s talking about him missing the saw on the SMG2 box, or the fork person from that one kingdom in Mario Odyssey
  • @Eddiember
I've been a big fan of Nornal Fish since their first appearance. I am so glad they got the recognition they deserve.
  • @RHVGamer
I wonder how different the scores would have been if the Japanese box art was use, for example, the Japanese box art of Super Mario Bros. has Peach, Bowser, two Toads, and 9 different enemies.

So happy that "Normal Fish", my favorite Mario character, is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

There's only two appearances of Mario in the SMM artwork. Two of them are afterimages, so unless you wanna count shadows (effects of light), there's only two. Also Goomba Toad in Wonder is just Toad. It's like a power up, he isnt controlling a Goomba, he just is one.
