  • "I can see the atoms" hammers it cold and breaks it in half 💀
  • Barely used a power tool, nearly fainted and still won the season
  • Yoo, this dude. This guy is a legend. Sunglass for eye protection, smoke a cigar just he doesn't breath smoke and almost burned his neighbourhood

Ryu is kind of like that image that many of get when we figure any person who wants to just get down to it and do it; can get it done. Dude walks into a shop with tools he's never used, let alone seen in some cases, overheats and needs time to cool down, comes back and finishes at the last minute; and then proceeds to hand the judges a basically nearly finished blade compared to the rest. And that's just this clip. Dude's a legend in is his own making.
  • Ryu is an absolute chad bro This is a dude who can literally make something out of nothing, absolute legend
  • I worked on this show back in the day. I used to pick the bladesmiths up at the airport and take them to their hotel. They were all such cool dudes. One of them took me to the natural history museum to check out blades while we had some time to kill. I learned a lot. Great show, great experience.

"Weapon of your choosing" "Has to be a blade"
  • James deserves an honorable mention. Dude may have been cut first round, but the point he had to restart at was an impossible task, but he still tried, and everyone could tell what he was going for, had he more time.

0:55 James was definitely an artist. He even made a fantastic and complex art @7:45, that only a real artist can comprehend.
  • As a blacksmith who makes a blade here and there, it is so obvious who is there to forge and who is there for entertainment value.
  • Ryu is my absolute favorite. He either needs to show up more often, or get his own show about shoestring blacksmithing.
  • @sooploopz
doug recognizing ryu is real recognizing real ‼️🇵🇭
  • @Mojova1
WTF makes him a rookie if he doesn't use power tools? Was your great grandpa a rookie?
  • 'I did Texas proud'. You have to admire the Texans for loving Texas so much.
  • I think Ryu is a Filipino we call them "Panday" or Blacksmith, and most od traditional panday are authentic atisans who forge things without using any powertools. Just pure skill and dedication what a man🔥
  • No other show is at this level of fairness and integrity
  • @AC-ni4gt
I remember that Ryu's forge is so low-tech that there wasn't even a power hammer or a hydraulic press.
  • I loved Ryu as a contestant, he was so chill, quietly confident all the way through, and did great work with very basic tools at home.
