I shoot a variety of .223 REM and 5.56 NATO rounds at a row of bowling pins to see how many they will pass through. There's absolutely nothing scientific, or definitive about this video. It's just for fun. The results may surprise you, they surprised me. Cheers

  • I guy years ago told me his 44 Mag would go through one. I laughed and said bet me. I WON😅

I appreciate how you clearly state that the test was not scientific.

At least now I know that next time I'm in a gunfight at a bowling alley I can take cover at the far end of the lane behind the pins 😋.

I have a bunch of bowling pins and I have shot them with numerous different calibers. The ones I have can't be punctured all the way through with any of the calibers I own including a 223 and a 7.62×39. Even a 30-06 wouldn't go all the way through. I shot one with a 7.62×54r and it pushed a buldge out the back but didn't go all the way through.

Thank you for sharing this information helped a lot great video.
  • I'm still impressed, it penetrated the thick part of a whole bowling pin, I wouldn't want that passing through my flesh

  • Hollow points are made for damage more over penetration. It sounds like some one returned fire 6:24 ha

Would love to see a heavier round 69-80 grain. Or even the new M855A1 and see how they do.

Wow strap a bunch of bowling pins inside my vehicle make it armored.

I shot a single bowling pin, at 100 yards, with a 50 cal and it went right through with minimal damage..  I was amazed....  I was thinking that it would have had major damage...  I was wrong!!  Good shooting and a fun experiment!!  ;-)

When this video came up, I thought you would have the rifle on a table top for precision. Placing the rifle on a table would give you a more stable and straight line. IMHO.
