The Ultimate Guide to Zion National Park

I am lucky enough to be within driving distance of Zion National Park. Because of this, I've made MANY trips there. Zion is amazing.
Recently, I started thinking more about how it was for our first trip to the park. It was intimidating. The trails, the permits, parking, traffic....where do you start?
Here. You start here, by watching this video. I decided to put together years of video from our trips to Zion National Park into a single video, condensing all of the trails and quirks. I've been there. Almost all of the shots in this video were shot by me on my visits to Zion National Park. This isn't a stock video put together by someone who downloaded and Google searched things; I was there. The goal is to help you plan your trip to Zion from someone who has been there so many times, they know the park like the back of their hand.
First, I will cover the main hikes;
The Zion Narrows
Riverside Walk
Taylor Creek Middle Fork
Wildcat Trail
The Zion Subway
West Rim Trail
Angels Landing
Emerald Pools
Canyon Overlook
Pine Creek
Then, I'll go into more about the park. The shuttle system. The basic layout of Zion National Park. The main road; Highway 9. Zion Canyon. Hazards like flash floods, animals, rock slides and cyanobacteria.
And then there's the permit system. That could be a whole video by itself. Do you go to the backcountry desk or get permits online? How about the Zion Express system? What works best for you? How about the crowds? Are there ways to get around the crowds?
Then there is the Visitor Center, Zion Outfitters, the South Campground....
And the rules about Zion Canyon. Can you drive there? Do you need a shuttle? Do you need permits?
Watch the video and find out.
I hope this helps you plan your trip and enjoy your visit. Zion National Park is amazing. It will blow your mind.

Best times to avoid the crowds are April to the first half of May and September, October. In between those times are when students are out of school and whole families go on vacation making it a nightmare.
