The lost location of the Green Acres barn, the barn seen in the opening credits to Green Acres has been found. The barn was demolished decades ago, and all that was known was that it was filmed somewhere in Thousand Oaks, CA in 1965. In this video we go through the research and sleuthing to find this lost location of TV's golden age. I also go to two more Green Acres locations in Hollywood and Los Angeles.

Nobody…NOBODY would know the location of this barn if it weren’t for you and your inquisitiveness and investigative skills. I have often wondered about that house and the barn since I was a kid. A big THANK YOU!
  • @RoyAH.
Westlake native here. Holy cow, you did it! You really found it! It’s in a part of town they call North Ranch, and now we can really see why! Well done sir!
  • It’s quite sad to see historical places like the big ranch, now completely wiped out and gone. I really hate mass development.

The action he saw in WW2 was some of the most deadly in history. He was a true American hero. Great show. What a fantastic job you did for all Green Acres fans!

You did a GREAT job in research. I met Eddie Albert when I was a young lad by accident at a store and he stopped and took a photo with me..He was a kind man. he said he LOVED being on Green Acres. He had a great time.

I literally was born and raised about 7 miles from where that barn was. When I grew up you could find a movie set somewhere around town during the week back then in the 60's. It was Conejo Valley back then. God, I feel old!
  • I met Tom Lester who played Eb on Green Acres many years ago. Very nice man. My favorite scenes involved Eddie Albert going into his patriotic rants about the virtues of country life and the goodness of America with the fife music suddenly playing around him.
  • I have always wondered what happened to those iconic Green Acres places. So I greatly appreciate all the time, research and hard work that you put into this video.

Great research! I live in Alabama and I’ve visited the grave of Mr. Heany (Pat Buttram) a couple of times. His grave is near Haleyville, AL in the little church cemetery where his dad pastored.

You have really out done yourself in researching for this video. The fact that you found the location of the barn is simply amazing. You have a wonderful attention to detail.

Thank you for sharing the location of the barn. Eddie Albert was a good friend of mine. I would often visit him at his home in Pacific Palisades. Do you remember the fictional town Pixley? I'm sure you are aware of the little town Pixley in central California. The water Tower scene on Green Acres still stands in that little town. A gentleman who lives there told me this just yesterday. I live a few miles away from Pixley.

Grew up in T.O. Moved there in 1959 and remember all the ranches well. Nice flashback.

Back when sitcoms were fun and enjoyable. Thank you for sharing
  • I used Historic Aerials and figured out the barn was located at 34.19310° N, 118.81475° W which puts it in the front yard of the house on the southeast corner of Bluebell Place and Fairmount.
