How did we end up here?
It all began with a year of full-time travel, embracing the van life until the world shifted, and we had to adjust accordingly. With travel no longer an option but determined to stay productive, we transformed our tiny house on wheels into a self-sufficient off-grid dwelling that fulfilled all our needs. Recognizing the uncertainty of the current tiny home, we quickly realized a permanent residence was the most sensible choice. Over the past three years, we have meticulously overseen every aspect of the project ourselves, planning the construction while simultaneously setting up the off-grid property to sustain our future food requirements. For the last two years we've lived in a Geodesic Dome, which has allowed us to be comfortable (expect for the winter months), while we realize our shipping container home dream! We've recently added a lakeside cabin into the mix, which has been so much fun to renovate and turn into a dreamy cottage but our heart is at the land, the 10 acre homestead we built from scratch in the middle of the woods!

I have to share a quick story…when Scott and Madison came back to The Land once they found a way to fix the incorrect fitting, they had binged watched the channel and were SO excited that they were going to be in an episode! Turns out they’re HUGE YouTube fans of watching channels like ours but the ol algorithm hadn't recommended us to them yet...I told them them they're in for a treat and not to miss reading the comment section because this is the BEST online community there is but I mean, come on…we all knew that already! Also, turns out that Ty DID get a sunburn from the insulation...he's looking a little lobstery right now but it really does make sense, the insulation looks like those metal tanning sheets everyone used in the 80s and 90s LOL. This has been so much work but like we said in the video...it's allll going to be worth it 😉

Guys it doesn’t matter what you film, we’re here for it. You don’t always have to film construction. Garden Tour would be awesome. A hiking vídeo a fishing video, it doesn’t matter we are here to support.

I would love a garden tour. Actually a full land tour of how past projects are doing like the orchard.

How fortunate that Scott and Madison came along, you really do live in an amazing helpful community!! Every week I look forward to seeing how you are going with your projects!

Over the past few years, I have marvelled at all of the advances you have made with your container-home, and the landscaping of the lot around it. I have no hesitation in saying that I hope you will continue to share your progress so that we (couch potatoes that we might be!) can enjoy even more segments. I am too old to even contemplate doing what you are accomplishing, but I am still young-at-heart and thus enjoy watching your successes!

I would LOVE a garden tour! It feels like ages ago that you started it... and I'd love to see how it's changed, grown, etc. Can't wait until you're able to actually use the pool... that's going to be great!
  • Thank goodness Scott and Madison came to the rescue! They not only got you hooked up but he even went home, thought if a solution to a problem area and came back with a fix! That's a sign of a great tradesman! I'm so excited for the deck and for you all to be able to swim in the pool! ❤️🐾😺🐾❤️
  • You guys get a real bit of luck just when you need it, and Scott and Madison came in at the right time, they sound like they’ll get it sorted right. Stay safe 🌸

I would love a garden tour. Would also like a tour of the walking paths that have been built over the years.

I was so relieved for you guys that you had the A-Team of Scott and Madison to finally get some great work done by people who get you and your all-year pool vision. Thanks for sharing your life with us! Sure ~ give us a garden tour ~ take a little break from all the labour!!
  • I like how you guys make your video some work, some play, some rest , some food. It’s a nice mix to make viewers interested. Know you’re both very intelligent.
  • Hi Scott and Madison!!! Welcome to the best channel on YouTube!!! Tyler and Todd, I love seeing the progress, with such fantastic help! I can't wait to see the deck build (and the slide!?!? 😂) come together! Everything you work on comes out beautifully! And yes please to a full garden tour! And I'd love to see how the orchard is growing! See you next week! ❤
  • I'm so glad that you have honest and knowledgeable people like Scott and Madison working on your projects. I'm always excited each week to see what you're working on next. I would love a garden tour. I haven't gardened in a while, but I used to. If you have a short growing season, you should definitely consider building a greenhouse.
  • Love Todd’s comments as you work. Great to see things moving along with good people helping you.

Yes--a garden tour, lunch conversations, a slide for the pool, 30 minute videos, a Squirrel cameo and a nap for Ty so he doesn't end the day "too tired". 🙃 No--can't imagine the deck (sorry). You two should be so proud of all you have accomplished there. You have grit that's for sure. ❤
